Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Social Media Coordinator for a respected arts and cultural nonprofit institution. This is a temporary, hybrid opportunity with onsite presence required for events, exhibitions, and multimedia content capture.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Social Media Coordinator will provide immediate, hands-on digital marketing support during a transitional period while the organization recruits a permanent hire. This role will manage day-to-day social media execution, create compelling multimedia content, and support major institutional initiatives, including centennial programming and a signature annual fundraiser. The ideal candidate is a strong brand storyteller who thrives in an event-driven environment and can quickly stabilize and elevate content strategy and engagement.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Audit current social media channels, align messaging with brand voice, and build a consistent content calendar
- Manage and execute daily content across Instagram, Facebook, and X platforms
- Capture and edit professional photography and video content during exhibitions, programs, and events
- Develop event-driven multimedia storytelling
- Monitor engagement and analytics to optimize content performance and audience growth
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure cohesive messaging
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Professional experience managing social media and digital content, ideally within arts, culture, nonprofit, or event-driven environments
- Strong writing skills with the ability to maintain and adapt to an established brand voice
- Professional photography and video capture/editing skills using industry-standard tools
- Fluency in Instagram, Facebook, and X, with familiarity in Adobe Creative Suite and content scheduling/analytics platforms
- Creative, adaptable, highly organized, and able to manage multiple deadlines in a dynamic setting
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
This temporary contract role offers $25 per hour over an anticipated two-month assignment at 35 hours per week.
