Growth Marketing Manager (Hands-on) — AustinDine Savvy · Austin area · Independent contractor (1099) · Hybrid: event nights in Austin, desk work anywhere
Contract growth marketer in Austin: run the promotion for our app's nights out (listings, venue posts, creators, small Meta tests and tracking) and report what each channel brought in.
The jobDine Savvy has a product people can use tonight and a written plan for the season. What it needs is the person who makes Austin hear about it, on a lean budget, with the numbers to show what worked.
Dine Savvy is an Austin app for nights out. Diners follow the restaurants and bars they like, and those venues' events and tastings show up in their app. They also run Quests: a night out of dinner, something to do and a last drink. Some we build, like Haunted Austin, 29–31 October; others diners build by saying the night they want.
You would take the season plan (Haunted Austin, Thanksgiving Eve, the holidays, New Year's, and Date Night in between) and run it: list every night, get venues posting, set up the tracking, run small paid tests, write the posts, and report results.
What you'd actually do- Run each night's promotion from four weeks out to the results summary: free listings, venue posts, creators, and any paid ad you propose.
- Set up tracking so each channel's sign-ups can be counted, and report them.
- Propose small paid tests on Meta and local media, each with its price; run the ones approved and stop what doesn't show results.
- Deliver an agreed set of posts for each night on Dine Savvy's own channels, starting with a real Date Night built in the app.
- Get every venue on a quest to post it once to its followers; our field rep can make the introductions.
- Book Austin food and nightlife creators, with paid posts disclosed.
- Write a short results summary after every night: what ran, what it cost, what it brought in, what we change.
Who this fitsRequired
- You have run marketing yourself for a consumer product, venue, event or local business, not only directed others who did.
- You have set up UTM or similar tracking links and read the results in Google Analytics or a similar tool.
- You have run a Meta (Facebook or Instagram) ad campaign hands-on: budget, targeting and creative.
- You have listed and promoted events: online calendars, Eventbrite or similar, local media.
- You write short, clear copy quickly.
- You are based in the Austin area and can be out on event nights.
- You can get your hands dirty -- post to social if needed, etc. as we build out team.
Preferred
- Restaurant, bar, hospitality or nightlife experience.
- You use AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT in your work. We plan in Claude and can give you access.
- TikTok or Instagram content, or creator and brand partnerships, such as AMEX.
- App sign-up funnels.
The honest versionWe are early. The app is live, Quests are live, and the season plan is written. There is no marketing team for you to manage and no agency behind you: you would do the work yourself, alongside a founder who cares about evidence and will ask what the numbers said.
Every line we put in front of customers has to be true and traceable, so no invented numbers. If you would rather direct than do, this is not the role. If you want to show what you can move with a lean budget and honest tracking, it may be exactly the role.
Terms- Independent contractor (1099). You choose your hours, tools and methods; we agree the outcome and deadline for each night.
- Monthly retainer
- A results bonus each quarter on outcomes we measure together, such as tracked sign-ups by line and approved before it runs. It never comes out of your pay.
- Hybrid: venue visits and event nights in Austin, the rest wherever you work best.
To applyEmail myles@dinesavvy.com with one campaign you ran yourself: what you did, how you tracked it, and what the numbers said, even if it didn't work. Add links to two or three short pieces you wrote. A résumé or LinkedIn link is welcome; the example matters more.
Dine Savvy is a technology company. We are not an alcohol producer, wholesaler or retailer. We welcome applicants of every background and consider every application on the work.
