About WallCandy

WallCandy is a colorful, Gen Z-focused home accessories brand making renter-friendly wall

hooks designed to make your space feel more like you.

We're building WallCandy as a social-first consumer brand, and we're looking for someone

who can own our day-to-day content creation and social presence while also supporting

influencer marketing and other lightweight marketing initiatives.

The Role

We're looking for a Content Creator & Social Media Manager who genuinely understands

TikTok, Instagram and internet culture — and, most importantly, knows how to turn that

understanding into content.

This is not a role where you'll spend your entire day building content calendars or sitting behind

a laptop. We want someone who is excited to actually make content.

You'll brainstorm ideas, film, edit, post, analyze what's working and continuously create more of

it. One day you might be filming product content, the next conducting street interviews around

Austin, coordinating influencer gifting, or jumping on a trend that started that morning.

You'll have significant creative freedom and the opportunity to help define WallCandy's voice

and social presence as the brand grows.

What You'll Own:

Short-Form Content

Create, film and edit TikToks and Instagram Reels
Develop original, entertaining content concepts for WallCandy
Identify trends, sounds, formats and conversations the brand can participate in
Create product-focused, lifestyle, trend and personality-driven content
Conduct street interviews and man-on-the-street content around Austin and college campuses
Be comfortable appearing on camera when needed
Develop recurring content series that can become recognizable to the WallCandy brand
Write captions and publish content across social platforms
Maintain a consistent content pipeline so we're posting frequently

Depending on whether this role is part-time or full-time, you'll also help with broader marketing

initiatives, including:

You'd Be Great for This If...

You have previously created and posted TikToks/Reels — required
You have examples of short-form content you've personally filmed and edited
You genuinely understand TikTok and Instagram culture
You're comfortable filming yourself AND other people
You're outgoing enough to approach strangers for street interviews
You're comfortable editing in CapCut or similar tools
You're constantly noticing trends, brands, creators and content ideas
You're proactive and can take an idea from concept → filming → editing → posting without needing someone to manage every step
Experience working for a consumer brand is a plus, but a strong portfolio and natural understanding of social media matter more to us than a specific number of years of experience.

Part-Time vs. Full-Time

We're open to hiring the right person part-time (~20 hours/week) or full-time (~40

hours/week).

For a part-time hire, the role will primarily focus on short-form content creation, social media

and influencer management.

For a full-time hire, the role will expand into broader brand marketing, campaigns, launches,

events, photoshoots, influencer partnerships and other creative initiatives.

There is significant opportunity for this position to grow as WallCandy grows.
