Job #8773 | Columbus, OH - Hybrid | 4-Month W2 Contract, Approximately 30 Hours/Week | Benefits eligible | Potential Extension or Future Internal Opportunity
ABOUT THE ROLE
If you love social media because you actually like making the content—not just planning it—this could be a great fit. The Social Media Content Specialist will help bring real community stories to life by finding great content, tracking down the details that make it interesting, editing short-form video, writing captions, and getting posts ready to go live. You’ll work closely with the internal marketing lead while getting to know the brand, its markets, and the people behind the content. This is a great opportunity for an early-career social content professional who wants hands-on experience, creative variety, and plenty of room to contribute ideas.
ABOUT OUR CLIENT
Our client is a national consumer-services organization supporting a community of independent professionals. Their marketing team creates organic social content that puts real people and their stories front and center rather than relying on overly polished promotional messaging. The environment is collaborative, fast-moving, and community-focused, with plenty of opportunities to uncover content in the everyday moments happening across the organization.
DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and curate organic social content using established content pillars
- Spot great stories within user- and community-generated content and turn them into engaging social posts
- Reach out to community members, market contacts, and contributors to gather additional content, context, and permission to use assets
- Edit short-form social video independently using tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere, or comparable software
- Write captions that feel natural, tell a real story, and give people a reason to stop scrolling
- Keep content, outreach, approvals, and follow-up organized while helping maintain a consistent posting cadence
- Partner closely with the internal marketing lead to learn the brand voice, markets, and community
- Take routine social content from idea to post-ready execution without relying on a separate design workflow for video edits
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Hands-on experience creating organic social content for a brand, agency, organization, creator, or community
- Strong writing skills and a knack for finding the interesting, human story behind everyday content
- Ability to independently edit short-form social video using CapCut, Adobe Premiere, or comparable software
- Comfortable reaching out through social media direct messages, email, and occasional phone calls to gather content and follow up
- Organized enough to keep multiple pieces of content, conversations, approvals, and deadlines moving at once
- Portfolio, social examples, or other work samples showing content you personally helped create
- Ability to work approximately 30 hours per week and participate in a hybrid schedule in Columbus, including in-person time during ramp-up; exact cadence to be confirmed
- Experience with user-generated, community-led, creator, or customer/member storytelling preferred
- Experience supporting a distributed brand, multi-location business, franchise, membership organization, beauty or wellness brand, or similar audience preferred
