Position Summary
As a Graphic Designer at Top Ten Liquors, you'll help bring our brand to life across digital, print, social media, email, and in-store experiences. You'll create engaging, polished, and accurate marketing materials that support weekly promotions, seasonal campaigns, special events, and everyday store operations.
This role will work closely with the Marketing and Leadership teams to ensure creative materials are delivered on time, align with our brand standards, and effectively support both our customers and store teams.
This opportunity is ideal for a creative professional who enjoys a fast-paced retail environment, takes ownership of their work, has strong attention to detail, and can balance creativity with deadlines and operational needs.
This position can be structured as a flexible freelance gig for the right candidate, making it a great opportunity for a designer looking for ongoing project work, a part-time creative opportunity, or a recurring freelance client relationship.

Key Responsibilities
Weekly Advertising
- Own the design and production of the weekly promotional ad from concept through final delivery.
- Ensure product information, pricing, dates, promotions, and other details are accurate.
- Meet weekly production deadlines and communicate proactively regarding any potential delays.
- Make revisions and updates based on feedback from the Marketing and Leadership teams.
- Maintain organized, editable files for recurring weekly advertisements.
Digital Marketing
- Design engaging creative for Facebook, Instagram, and other digital marketing channels.
- Create promotional web banners and digital advertising assets.
- Develop graphics for special promotions, product launches, seasonal campaigns, and company initiatives.
- Adapt designs for different platforms, sizes, and digital formats while maintaining brand consistency.
Email Marketing
- Create eye-catching graphics and templates for weekly email campaigns and sales announcements.
- Develop promotional creative that supports sales objectives and seasonal campaigns.
- Ensure email graphics are visually appealing, easy to understand, and consistent with the Top Ten Liquors brand.
Print & In-Store Marketing
- Design signage, window displays, price tags, promotional materials, direct-mail flyers, and other print collateral.
- Create materials that are visually appealing, easy for customers to understand, and practical for store teams to implement.
- Support in-store promotions, vendor events, tastings, seasonal campaigns, and community initiatives.
- Prepare files appropriately for digital and professional print production.
Brand Consistency
- Follow established Top Ten Liquors brand guidelines across all creative materials.
- Maintain consistency in fonts, colors, logos, photography, messaging, and overall visual identity.
- Help strengthen and evolve the visual presentation of the Top Ten Liquors brand.
- Ensure creative work reflects the company's values and customer experience.
Asset Management
- Organize and maintain a clean, accessible library of design files, templates, photography, logos, and other creative assets.
- Maintain appropriate file naming and organization standards.
- Ensure final and editable files are available for future use and updates.
- Help develop templates and systems that make recurring creative work more efficient.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with the Marketing team to understand creative needs, priorities, and deadlines.
- Collaborate with store and corporate leadership when creative support is needed.
- Receive feedback professionally and make revisions efficiently.
- Communicate clearly regarding project timelines, priorities, and potential challenges.
- Manage multiple projects while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of professional graphic design experience.
- Retail, e-commerce, consumer goods, hospitality, food and beverage, fashion, or other consumer-facing industry experience preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Proficiency with Canva.
- Strong understanding of typography, layout, composition, color, and visual communication.
- Experience creating both digital and print marketing materials.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating graphic design work, particularly digital advertising, social media, print materials, and/or retail marketing.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage projects from concept through completion.
- Ability to take direction, incorporate feedback, and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Retail, liquor, wine, spirits, beer, or beverage industry experience is a plus, but not required.
Availability Requirements
- Approximately 10–15 hours per week, depending on business and project needs.
- Ability to meet recurring weekly deadlines, particularly for the weekly promotional ad.
- Flexibility to adjust hours based on seasonal campaigns, special projects, and business priorities.
- Primarily remote work with the ability to participate in occasional in-person meetings in Minnesota/Twin Cities area, as needed.
- Ability to communicate consistently with the Marketing team during agreed-upon working hours.

Compensation
- $35.00 to $45.00 per hour based on experience, portfolio, and project scope.
- Hourly or project-based compensation may be considered depending on the candidate and nature of the work.
