Social Media Manager (Independent Contractor) — 212 Pilates, Midtown Manhattan
About Us
212 Pilates is a boutique reformer Pilates studio in Midtown Manhattan, known for elevated, personalized instruction in a refined studio environment. We're looking for a creative, self-motivated social media manager to help grow our online presence and bring our brand to life across platforms.
The Role
This is a contract, project-based engagement — ideal for someone building a portfolio in social media, content creation, or brand marketing, and who can work independently with minimal day-to-day oversight. You'll set your own hours and workflow; we're looking for outcomes, not a time clock.
What You'll Do
- Plan and create content (photo/video/reels) that reflects our studio's aesthetic
- Liaise with Studio Management on design and branding
- Manage posting calendar across Instagram and TikTok
- Engage with our community — comments, DMs, tagged content
- Track engagement and suggest content strategy based on performance
- Occasionally shoot content in-studio (classes, instructors, studio ambiance)
What We're Looking For
- Strong eye for aesthetics — you understand what makes wellness/luxury content feel premium
- Comfortable shooting and editing short-form video (Reels/TikTok)
- Self-starter who can manage this independently, without close supervision
- Prior experience running social accounts (personal, brand, or client) is a plus
- Based in or near NYC preferred for occasional in-studio shoots

- Independent contractor role — you set your own schedule/method of work, and are free to take on other clients
- Compensation: Starting from $500/month — commensurate with scope
- Written agreement provided per NYC Freelance Isn't Free Act requirements
