Job Overview
Dessert Candles® is looking for creative, social-media-obsessed freelance content creators to help us create TikTok and Instagram content.
We’re looking for someone who loves making content, understands what actually feels native to TikTok, and is comfortable being in front of and behind the camera.
You’ll work with our Head of Marketing on concepts while bringing your own creative ideas to shoots. Some content may involve collaborating with another creator on camera.
What you'll do
- Create short-form content for TikTok and Instagram
- Appear on camera regularly
- Help turn creative concepts and trends into engaging videos
- Film casual lifestyle and behind-the-scenes content around San Diego
- Some shoots may include street interviews or other public-facing content
- Edit simple, fast-paced short-form videos
- Keep up with TikTok trends, formats, and internet culture
- Bring new content ideas to the table
- Collaborate with another creator for two-person concepts
- Help build a library of reusable raw footage
You might be a great fit if you
- Spend a lot of time on TikTok and understand why certain videos work
- Are naturally funny, creative, and comfortable on camera
- Know the difference between content that feels native and content that feels like an ad
- Have a strong visual eye
- Can shoot good-looking content on an iPhone
- Enjoy experimenting with different formats and ideas
- Are based in San Diego and can meet locally for filming
Project details
Term: Initial 30-day freelance project
Time commitment: Approximately 20 hours over the project period
Schedule: Flexible and mutually scheduled based on availability and project needs
Location: San Diego; in-person content creation required
Compensation: $500 fixed project fee
Some work can be completed independently from home, but most of the project will involve in-person shoots at different locations around San Diego.
There may be opportunities for future projects if it’s a strong fit.
