Social Media Marketing Manager & Video Specialist
Location: In Office
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Overview
We're looking for a highly creative, organized, and proactive Social Media Manager & Video Specialist to join our growing team. This role is primarily focused on creating, editing, and optimizing short-form video content for a portfolio of restaurant, hospitality, and lifestyle brands, while also supporting the day-to-day management of client social media accounts.
Approximately 70% of the position focuses on video editing and content creation, including editing Instagram Reels and TikTok videos, developing creative video concepts, capturing content at client locations, and staying ahead of evolving social trends and editing styles. The remaining 30% supports social media management, including content planning, scheduling, Instagram Stories, community management, and promotional content.
The ideal candidate has a strong eye for compelling short-form video, understands what performs across social platforms, and can adapt their editing and creative approach to fit a variety of distinct brands.
Responsibilities:
Video Editing & Content (70%)
Video Editing
- Edit raw video footage into engaging, polished Instagram Reels, TikTok videos, and other short-form social content.
- Transform raw footage into cohesive videos through pacing, transitions, music, text overlays, graphics, and other creative editing techniques.
- Adapt editing styles to reflect the unique identity, voice, and audience of each client brand.
- Create multiple styles of short-form content, including trend-driven, promotional, storytelling, lifestyle, food, and experience-focused videos.
- Identify the strongest moments within raw footage and develop them into compelling social content.
- Optimize video length, pacing, hooks, formatting, and overall structure for each platform.
- Incorporate client feedback and internal creative direction into video revisions.
- Maintain consistent quality and brand standards across a high volume of video deliverables.
Video Strategy & Creative Development
- Stay current on Instagram Reels, TikTok, editing trends, audio trends, content formats, and platform best practices.
- Identify emerging video trends and determine how they can be adapted appropriately for different client brands.
- Develop creative video concepts, hooks, shot lists, and content ideas.
- Recommend new video formats and creative approaches based on platform trends and content performance.
- Help establish distinct video styles for client brands rather than relying on the same editing approach across accounts.
- Review video performance and use insights to help inform future content.
- Collaborate on seasonal campaigns, promotions, launches, events, and other marketing initiatives that require video content.
Content Capture
- Visit client locations to capture high-quality photo and video content.
- Film short-form content specifically with Instagram Reels, TikTok, and other social platforms in mind.
- Capture food, drinks, atmosphere, staff, events, promotions, and other brand moments.
- Plan shots and footage around upcoming video concepts and content needs.
- Ensure captured footage provides enough variety and coverage for ongoing social content.
- Collaborate with the creative team to execute content plans and campaign ideas.
Social Media Management (30%)
Content Calendars & Social Planning
- Support monthly content calendars across assigned client accounts.
- Write engaging, on-brand captions tailored to each client and platform.
- Ensure content aligns with upcoming promotions, holidays, events, and marketing initiatives.
- Schedule posts, promotions, event flyers, and requested content through Loomly.
- Review scheduled content for accuracy, brand consistency, and proper formatting prior to publishing.
- Ensure scheduled posts publish successfully and troubleshoot publishing issues when necessary.
Instagram Stories & Community Management
- Create and post Instagram Stories across assigned client accounts.
- Keep Stories current with promotions, events, specials, and timely initiatives.
- Repost high-quality user-generated content and tagged content when appropriate.
- Monitor direct messages and customer inquiries across social platforms.
- Respond to messages in a timely and professional manner.
- Review relevant collaboration requests and flag influencer or partnership opportunities for the team.
Promotional Content & Asset Organization
- Create social graphics and promotional assets using Canva as needed.
- Ensure holidays, promotions, specials, limited-time offers, and seasonal campaigns are consistently promoted across participating concepts.
- Collect and organize photo, video, and promotional assets.
- Upload content into the appropriate Google Drive folders.
- Keep video and social media assets organized and accessible to the team.
- Track upcoming promotions, events, and content deadlines to ensure necessary video and creative assets are completed on time.
Team Coordination
- Collaborate with the social, creative, and account teams on upcoming campaigns and content needs.
- Support account managers with social media and video-related requests as needed.
- Communicate content needs, missing assets, and upcoming deadlines to the appropriate team members.
- Help maintain organized workflows for video projects, revisions, approvals, and final assets.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years experience in video editing, content creation, social media, digital marketing, or an agency environment.
- Strong short-form video editing skills with a portfolio demonstrating Instagram Reels, TikTok, or similar content.
- Proficiency with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of pacing, storytelling, hooks, transitions, audio, text, and other elements of engaging short-form video.
- Knowledge of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and emerging social platforms.
