Role Overview
The Brand and Social Media Manager reports to the Director of Partnerships, PR & Collaborations and works closely with the Director of Social Media. This role is responsible for executing and managing the day-to-day operations of the Durana brand, supporting partnerships, managing communications and logistics, handling administrative workflows, and owning the brand's daily social media presence and content execution. The Brand and Social Media Manager turns strategy into execution, keeping both the brand's operations and its social channels running smoothly and consistently.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Administration
- Manage brand emails and communications
- Coordinate internal and external brand requests
- Track partnerships, deliverables, and timelines
- Ensure follow-ups and responses are completed on time
- Lead scheduling for brand initiatives
Research & Brand Opportunities
- Proactively identify and pursue new brand opportunities — don't wait to be asked
- Search for relevant articles, podcasts, media opportunities, and partnerships
- Initiate outreach to potential partners and follow through on booking/scheduling
- Monitor industry trends
- Support content and partnership strategy with research
Social Media & Content
- Create and execute daily stories and social posts based on direction from the Director of Social Media
- Post content on schedule and manage timely publishing across all platforms
- Maintain and update the social media calendar, ensuring it stays organized and current
- Monitor comments, DMs, and community engagement, flagging items that need attention
- Track basic performance metrics (reach, engagement, growth) and share recurring updates
- Maintain a working library of brand assets, content, and captions for reuse and repurposing
On-Site Content Capture & Travel
- Be on-site to create and capture content for podcasts, events, speeches, activations, and other brand appearances
- Travel is a core part of this position; availability to travel as needed is required
- Plan ahead for upcoming appearances to ensure the right content is captured at each one
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 4-5 years of experience in brand marketing, social media, communications, or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms, content creation, and community management.
- Highly organized with excellent project management and communication skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience coordinating partnerships, campaigns, or events is a plus.
- Comfortable capturing content on-site and traveling as needed.
- Proficient with social media management, content editing, and project management tools.
Work Location & Schedule
This position follows an enforced hybrid schedule, requiring team members to be present in our San Diego, California office at least four days per week (Monday–Thursday). Fridays are available for remote work. This role also requires attendance at all in-person monthly team meetings and quarterly company events.
Physical Requirements
This role primarily involves office-based work and requires the ability to occasionally lift, carry, or move items up to 20–30 pounds, such as files or office supplies. Employees should be able to sit or stand for extended periods and perform frequent computer-based tasks, including prolonged exposure to a computer screen.
Compensation & Total Rewards
The salary range for this position is $85,000-120,000annually. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
