Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a Legal Research Content Writer. The Legal Research Content Writer will conduct in-depth legal research on criminal defense and immigration topics, analyze case law and statutes, and translate complex legal concepts into clear, accessible written content. Day-to-day tasks include drafting website articles, blog posts, client education materials, and internal resources that support the firm’s advocacy and marketing efforts. The role also involves collaborating with the managing partner to identify relevant legal issues, ensuring all content is accurate, compliant, and aligned with the firm’s voice, and updating existing content as laws and policies change.
Qualifications
- Strong Web Content Writing and Writing skills, with the ability to explain complex legal topics in a clear, engaging, and professional manner.
- Demonstrated Research and Content Strategy abilities, including sourcing reliable legal authorities and planning content that supports firm objectives.
- Excellent Proofreading skills, with attention to detail, grammar, and citation accuracy.
- Familiarity with criminal law and immigration law concepts, or strong interest and willingness to learn quickly in these practice areas.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, English, Journalism, Communications, Political Science, or a related field; a JD or paralegal experience is a plus.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines consistently.
- Strong ethical judgment, respect for client confidentiality, and commitment to non-discriminatory, inclusive communication.
Compensation
$20/hour - 1099 Contractor
