Associate Designer
Location: San Diego, CA (Hybrid)
Role Overview
An Associate Designer is sought to join a product design team. This individual will support the design and development of a variety of consumer products, including soft goods, sewn products, molded hard goods, and plush toys. The ideal candidate is a creative and collaborative designer who can effectively communicate visual concepts, contribute to product development initiatives, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design and development of new products from concept through production.
- Create and communicate visual concepts through both hand-drawn and digital illustrations.
- Conduct product and market research to support design initiatives.
- Review product prototypes and samples with cross-functional teams.
- Document and communicate product revisions, sample feedback, and design updates.
- Troubleshoot product prototype issues and collaborate on solutions.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure designs meet business and product objectives.
- Utilize AI-powered rendering tools and emerging technologies to support the design process.
- Maintain organized project documentation, spreadsheets, and communications.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of product design experience.
- Experience designing consumer products, including soft goods, sewn products, hard goods, or similar categories.
- Strong hand-sketching and digital illustration skills.
- Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
- Experience communicating visual concepts through drawings, renderings, and presentations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working onsite and collaborating in person with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-paced environment.
- Experience using AI tools for design rendering and visualization; openness to leveraging tools such as Gemini is required.

- Ability to receive feedback and iterate quickly on designs.
