Founded in 2019, Formula Fig is an innovative digital-first experiential skincare company operating 8+ Fig Bar locations across Canada (Vancouver, Toronto) and the US (Los Angeles). We've built a flywheel model connecting formulafig.com with our physical Fig Bars, offering high-tech treatments integrated with carefully curated third-party retail products. Our treatments seamlessly incorporate both partner products and our proprietary skincare line, FFFormulations, which launches this year—marking our evolution into a fully integrated treatment and product brand.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
We’re seeking a Marketing Associate who will act as the operational engine behind our marketing team. As the Marketing Associate, you'll own the daily execution of our community management on social channels, UGC pipeline, and in-person events — while supporting our brand partnerships and the FFFormulations launch. You sit at the intersection of brand, community, and guest experience — this is a role for someone who lives the Formula Fig brand and can translate it into every comment reply, story repost, Fig Fan touchpoint, and Fig Bar event.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Social media operations (daily)
- Execute daily social community engagement across Instagram, TikTok, and emerging channels under direction
- Draft caption copy for social posts and brand-voice copy for use across social, email/SMS, and landing pages — hand off to the Digital Associate for digital deployment
- Respond to comments, DMs, and tagged stories within 4 hours during working hours
- Capture, request, and organize UGC from Fig Fans and guests
- Hand off captured UGC and assets to the Digital Associate for deployment into social, Klaviyo, and landing pages
- Manage the content phone for real-time stories, UGC reshares, and Fig Fan amplification
Fig Fan + community management
- Own day-to-day Fig Fan outreach, tracking, and Asana board hygiene
- Facilitate Fig Fan bookings and treatment coordination alongside the Guest Concierge team
- Maintain Gorgias internal notes for every active Fig Fan
- Manage Fig Fan referral codes, tracking, and redemption follow-up
- Surface trends, top-performing creators, and partnership opportunities to the Marketing team
Press + Media support
- Track award submission deadlines and assemble materials for industry recognition
- Maintain the active press list and journalist outreach tracker
- Coordinate sample sends, press kits, and follow-up logistics post-launch or post-event
- Triage incoming press inquiries through Gorgias and route to the marketing team
- Pull data and assemble materials for quarterly brand marketing reporting
Events + partnerships coordination
Execute the day-to-day operations of two active programmes plus in-bar events, under direction of the marketing team:
Local Business Partnership Programme
- Coordinate the active LA + Vancouver gifting partner network (currently 25+ partners across fitness, coffee, lifestyle)
- Execute gift card seeding and partner-side admin
- Coordinate partner-led activations across the calendar: Pride, marathons, regional festivals, Mother's Day, Coachella
Brand Partner Activation Programme
- Execute Surprise & Delight rounds (H+G Guest Passes) for active brand partners
- Coordinate Team Champions: comp facials + on-site content capture
- Execute brand partner onboarding logistics: materials, sample sends, asset coordination, dedicated email/social moments alongside the Digital Marketing Associate
- Support brand-led in-bar Fig Bar events end-to-end: vendor coordination, RSVP management, gifting, setup, on-site flow, photography/UGC capture
- Manage pre-event marketing comms (invites, social teasers) and post-event recap content
- Maintain the marketing events + partnerships calendar in Asana
Cross-functional coordination
- Partner daily with the Digital Marketing Associate — hand off UGC, social assets, and brand-voice copy
- Bridge marketing and Guest Experience: ensure Gorgias workflows and guest-facing touchpoints stay aligned with brand voice
- Coordinate with team on Brand Partnerships on activation execution
- Support FFFormulations launch marketing operations: teasers, sneak peeks, launch day social, post-launch UGC
- Triage marketing-related guest escalations alongside the Guest Experience team, ensuring brand voice and resolution speed
- Participate in the Clienteling Framework for repeat and high-value guests, in partnership with Guest Experience and Fig Bar Managers
Admin + ops
- Asset trafficking, vendor coordination, basic reporting
- Maintain the marketing calendar and brief docs to Formula Fig standards
- Apply the "no brief, no work" creative standard and the CRI framework (Context / Recommendation / Impact) on every ask
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1–3 years in social media, community management, events, or marketing coordination — beauty, wellness, or hospitality preferred
- Native fluency in Instagram + TikTok; understands platform mechanics, not just trends
- Brand-first taste: can articulate why a piece of content is or isn't on-brand, beyond "it looks good"
- Operationally rigorous: lives in Asana, comfortable with Gorgias, Figma, Google Workspace. Familiarity with Klaviyo a bonus
- Event execution experience: comfortable running on-site logistics, vendor coordination, and same-day problem solving
- PR / press experience an asset: comfortable with award submissions, journalist outreach, and press list management
- Experience managing partner networks at scale (10+ active partnerships, gifting coordination, contract trafficking)
- Strong written communication; can draft caption copy, DM responses, and internal updates in voice
- Comfortable in a fast-moving, founder-led environment with shifting priorities
- LA-based; able to be in-person at WeHo and Culver Steps Fig Bars regularly
