Freelance Content Creator / Social Maker

Here’s the deal. You don’t just love social. You know how to make for it.
You can design, shoot, edit, concept, caption, remix, crop, post, and polish ideas so they feel native to the feed and unmistakably on brand.
We’re looking for a social-first maker who can bring ideas to life quickly and beautifully. Someone who understands platforms, trends, timing, and what makes people care.
You’re part designer, part shooter, part editor, part idea machine. This role is for someone who can make the thing, not just talk about the thing.
Responsibilities:
- Concept, design, shoot, edit, and produce social-first assets across platforms, formats, and commerce content.
- Partner with writers, art directors, strategists, and producers to take ideas from brief to concept to final execution.
- Translate team thinking into multiple visual directions, showing a range of ways an idea can come to life including providing multiple social references to demonstrates concepts.
- Create work that feels native to social while staying true to the brand’s voice, look, and standards.
- Stay deeply tuned into platform behavior, visual trends, creator culture, memes, formats, and emerging internet aesthetics.
- Use motion, editing, typography, sound, and platform tools to make content more engaging and effective.
- Present creative options clearly, explaining the thinking behind the work.
- Curate design, motion, social, and cultural references that inspire stronger ideas and sharper execution.
- Manage multiple projects independently, moving quickly without sacrificing craft.
- Stay current on new tools, technology, production methods, and AI workflows that can improve how social content gets made.
Qualifications
- Strong graphic design skills, whether self-taught, formally trained, or somewhere in between.
- Photo and video skills, including shooting, framing, lighting, and editing for social content.
- Deep understanding of social media trends, platform behaviors, and best practices for internet-first content.
- Motion design skills are a strong plus.
- Expert-level fluency in creating for social platforms, especially Instagram and TikTok.
- Comfortable using native platform tools, features, formats, and publishing details.
- Genuine enthusiasm for making all kinds of content, from polished brand assets to quick-turn social ideas.
