Leading Lifestyle Brand Corte Madera is seeking a seasoned
Sr. Print Graphic Designer with deep expertise in InDesign and premium print design. This role is dedicated to elevating our client’s iconic sourcebooks and print touchpoints, translating our luxury brand vision into meticulously crafted layouts and systems. The ideal candidate brings a refined aesthetic, rigorous attention to detail, and a strong background in editorial, catalog, or high-end retail design.
You will collaborate closely with merchants, product development, web and digital teams, art directors, copywriters, project managers, and production to ensure every page and printed asset reflects the brand at the highest level.
Key Responsibilities
- Sourcebook & Catalog Design Develop and refine layouts for our client’s seasonal sourcebooks and catalogs, ensuring a cohesive visual narrative, impeccable typography, and a premium brand experience across hundreds of pages.
- Brand-Forward Print Systems Interpret and extend existing client brand guidelines into robust print systems and templates; evolve layout rules, grid structures, and typographic hierarchies to support new product launches and emerging categories.
- Concept Development Partner with creative leadership to originate design concepts for print campaigns, story chapters, feature spreads, lookbooks, direct mail pieces, and in-store collateral that align with business and brand objectives.
- Multi-Project Ownership Simultaneously manage a slate of print projects—from early concept and wireframes through production-ready files—adhering to schedules, version control, and feedback cycles in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Prepress & Production Readiness Build flawless mechanicals and production files; ensure correct color, image resolution, bleeds, folds, and finishes; partner with production and print vendors to uphold quality standards.
- Quality & Brand Stewardship Review and refine design work produced by internal partners, ensuring strict adherence to our client’s visual standards, consistency across touchpoints, and accuracy of details such as product information, pricing, and typography.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with merchants, product and sourcing teams, web, copy, and photography to translate business goals and product stories into elevated visual solutions; clearly present design rationale to stakeholders and executive creative leadership.
- Iterative Improvement Proactively identify opportunities to streamline layout systems, enhance readability, improve information hierarchy, and optimize production efficiencies across recurring print pieces.
Requirements - Experience: 7–10+ years of professional design experience in advertising, branding, editorial, direct marketing, or retail, with a strong emphasis on long-form print and catalog/editorial systems.
- Technical Mastery:
- Expert-level proficiency in Adobe InDesign (mandatory).
- High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) for print applications.
- Solid knowledge of print production and prepress best practices.
- Comfortable working on Mac OSX and using Microsoft Office tools.
- Airtable and Figma experience a plus.
- Design Craft:
- Expert command of typography, grid systems, visual hierarchy, and composition.
- Demonstrated ability to build clean, scalable layout systems for long-form documents.
- Strong sense of style aligned with luxury, interior, or lifestyle brands is highly preferred.
- Communication & Collaboration:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to clearly articulate design decisions and rationale.
- Comfortable presenting work to senior creative leadership and cross-functional partners.
- Ability to accept and incorporate feedback gracefully, while contributing constructively to group critiques.
