Compensation Range: $55 - 63 per hour
Are you a visionary storyteller with the strategic muscle to lead a high-volume internal creative agency? We are looking for a Director of Creative Copy to define, elevate, and drive the brand voice for one of the world's leading cruise lines.
In this role, you won't just be managing writers; you will be shifting brand perceptions, influencing consumer choice, and generating revenue through world-class narrative strategy. You will lead a talented team in the ideation and execution of integrated marketing campaigns across every touchpoint-from national advertising and high-budget video shoots to digital experiences and global brand deliverables.
Responsibilities:
- Brand Stewardship: Define and uphold the global brand voice, ensuring consistency and creative excellence across all 24,000+ annual marketing assets.
- Creative Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of senior copywriters (full-time and freelance), fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Strategic Vision: Partner with cross-functional directors (Production, Creative, Operations) to develop global positioning and marketing campaigns that differentiate the brand in a competitive marketplace.
- Insight-Driven Storytelling: Use consumer truths and cultural trends to push the team toward provocative, innovative problem-solving.
- Operational Excellence: Manage department resourcing, workflow refinement, and the maintenance of a global copy/content bank to ensure efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
- Executive Influence: Act as a creative thought leader, presenting major concepts and strategies to senior management and C-suite leadership.
Vendor Management:
- Provide expert strategic direction for external partners, including ad agencies, photographers, and digital vendors.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience managing creative teams within a corporate organization or top-tier advertising agency.
- Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing integrated, multi-channel work (Direct Mail, OOH, Digital, Video, Social, and Global Campaigns).
- Leadership: Proven track record of leading creative departments and developing strategies that yield positive financial results.
- Skills: * Exceptional copywriting, conceptual thinking, and business acumen.
- Ability to navigate a Mac-based environment and high fluency in Microsoft Suite.
- Experience with international/multi-national brands is highly preferred.
- Strong persuasion and presentation skills for high-level stakeholder management.
- Travel: Ability to travel for photography/video shoots on-site or on-board ships as needed.
