INNOCEAN USA, a full-service ad agency located in sunny Huntington Beach, CA, is seeking a Freelance Director of Social Strategy to support our team!
This is initially a short-term assignment to start immediately.
We are a hybrid workplace, x2 days week in-office. Candidates local to SoCal is highly preferred. Our ideal candidate has functioned in a Director level role.
OVERVIEW
As the freelance Director of Social Strategy, you will assist in setting the tone for Hyundai’s social vision for 2025. The Social Strategist must be experienced in omni-channel content marketing, social media strategy, content creation, best practices, and can translate emerging social and community trends into an actionable plan.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Serve as the strategic voice for the INNOCEAN social media team for Hyundai. Helping to plan and author the 2025 Hyundai social strategy.
- Respond to ad hoc POV requests on social landscape, new platforms and features, competitive automotive social landscape, content calendar and publishing cadence.
- Provide day-to-day strategic support, support of community managers, assist in the execution of Hyundai social campaigns, and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Present creative briefs to internal teams and external media and content production partners.
- Provide key channel and community insights and strategic frameworks for organizing and developing social messaging. Gather secondary online research findings to gain clear, polished insights to help inform social and creative strategy.
- Lead and moderate brainstorm sessions/ideate around program executions/campaigns with entire social team.
- Partner with integrated and social creative teams, data science teams, strategic planners, brand managers, media, and production to build effective campaigns, ensuring campaigns are on strategy, data-informed, on-time, and on-budget. Measure & Report on performance.
- Ensure consistency of messages across multiple networks including: TikTok, Instagram, Threads, X, Facebook, Youtube and emerging channels.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 8 years’ experience in content strategy/development, digital marketing and social media strategy
- Experience in customer journey mapping, connections planning and comms planning
- Supervisory/Managerial experience
- Brainstorming experience
- Exhibit understanding of online market and social/digital capabilities
- Proven competence in marketing and communications, including brand messaging
- Excellent writing and editing skills, along with the ability to curate compelling graphic imagery. A “storyteller.”
- Experience working with social monitoring/listening tools and Google Analytics
- Bachelor's degree or higher
The salary range for this role is $150,00 - $173,000. [is based on annual salary]. Pay is dependent upon several factors including but not limited to: experience, client, training and/or transferable skills.
