Email & Lifecycle Marketing Contractor
Gevity | Austin, TX
Part-Time Contractor
Gevity is Austin’s private members club for founders, executives and ambitious professionals who want to build successful careers without sacrificing their well-being. We’re looking for a part-time Email & Lifecycle Marketing Contractor to own the day-to-day execution of how we communicate with prospective and current members.
This person will be responsible for keeping our lead nurture, member emails, newsletters and member-facing app content current, thoughtful and consistent. You’ll work closely with our marketing and member experience teams to translate what’s happening at Gevity into communications that help prospects understand the value of membership and help current members get more out of the club.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is highly organized, understands how to learn and write in a distinct brand voice, and is naturally curious about what’s happening across Gevity. We want someone who notices the things worth talking about—a new program launching, a great press mention, a new membership benefit, an interesting member story—and knows how to turn those moments into strong marketing.
You should be comfortable owning an email from start to finish: determining the message, writing the copy, creating a clean and visually strong layout, building it in HubSpot, testing it, segmenting the audience and deploying the final send.
We use tools like Claude and other AI platforms to help with ideation, copy and creative development, but you should have strong enough marketing judgment to know what good looks like and be able to turn those inputs into a polished final product.
What You’ll Own
Lead Nurture
- Own and maintain prospect nurture communications in HubSpot, including applicant nurture, tour follow-up, guest visits, re-engagement and other key prospect journeys.
- Write, design, build and deploy emails within HubSpot.
- Keep nurture content fresh and relevant as Gevity evolves. For example, if Gevity receives a great press mention, launches a new program or adds meaningful membership value, proactively identify where that should be incorporated into our nurture communications.
- Optimize existing workflows and maintain lists, segmentation and personalization within HubSpot.
- Identify opportunities to improve how we communicate with leads throughout the membership consideration process.
- Ensure emails are visually polished, easy to scan, mobile-friendly and consistent with the Gevity brand.
Member Email Marketing
- Own member email marketing from onboarding through ongoing engagement.
- Write, design, build and deploy onboarding email nurture series for new members to help them understand and take advantage of their membership.
- Own a weekly member email that keeps members up to date on what’s happening across the club, including programming, events, new benefits, services, opportunities and important updates.
- Own the production of Gevity’s monthly member newsletter, including gathering content, writing and editing copy, designing the email layout, building it in HubSpot, testing and scheduling the final send.
- Proactively gather information from the Gevity team and identify the most relevant and valuable content to feature.
- Create targeted communications when certain information or opportunities are particularly relevant to specific groups of members.
- Maintain a high standard for visual presentation, hierarchy, imagery, formatting and overall email experience.
- Ensure all member emails are consistent with the Gevity brand and remain organized and on schedule.
Gevity App
- Refresh member-facing content within the Gevity app on a consistent weekly cadence.
- Keep programming, announcements, membership benefits, member opportunities and featured content current.
- Make sure the app reflects what is actually happening across the club and continually helps members discover more value from their membership.
- Coordinate with the Events & Member Experience team to stay ahead of upcoming programming and relevant updates.
- Proactively identify content, stories and updates that should be surfaced in the app rather than waiting for them to be assigned.
What We’re Looking For
- Hands-on experience with HubSpot Marketing Hub is required.
- Experience independently building and deploying marketing emails in HubSpot.
- Experience with automated workflows, lists, segmentation and nurture campaigns.
- Strong visual judgment and an understanding of what makes an email feel polished, well-designed and easy to engage with.
- Comfortable creating email layouts using HubSpot’s drag-and-drop tools and working with imagery, hierarchy, spacing, CTAs and formatting.
- Strong copywriting and editing skills with the ability to learn and consistently write in the Gevity brand voice.
- Comfortable using AI tools such as Claude and Claude deisgn to support ideation, copywriting and creative development while applying your own judgment to produce a strong final product.
- Naturally curious and proactive—you pay attention to what is happening around you and recognize opportunities to turn it into compelling marketing.
- Highly organized and able to manage recurring weekly and monthly deadlines without constant reminders.
- Comfortable gathering information from multiple people and turning it into polished, member-facing communications.
- Strong attention to detail, including proofreading, link testing, formatting and email QA.
- Able to work independently while collaborating closely with a small team.
- Experience with lifecycle marketing, email marketing, CRM marketing, membership businesses, hospitality, wellness or community-driven brands is a plus.
What Success Looks Like
You become the owner of Gevity’s recurring lead and member communications.
You proactively know what needs to go out each week, gather the necessary information from the team, keep HubSpot nurture journeys current, make sure the app is consistently refreshed and ensure our members and prospects are hearing from Gevity in a thoughtful and consistent way.
You don’t just write emails—you know how to turn an idea into a polished, on-brand communication that is visually strong, built correctly in HubSpot and ready to deploy.
You’re paying attention to what’s happening across the business and regularly identifying stories, updates and opportunities that should be communicated—without waiting for someone to tell you.
The goal is for these channels to run consistently and effectively without requiring day-to-day management from our CMO.
