We partner with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, generator, garage door, and other home service companies across the country to create high-quality content that builds their brands and connects them with their local communities.
Role Description
Home Service Studios is looking for a fun, outgoing, social-media-savvy Freelance Social Media Content Creator based in Houston, TX.
This is not a traditional videography or editing position. We’re looking for someone who understands what makes short-form social content entertaining and knows how to bring personality out of people on camera.
You’ll visit our home service clients throughout the Houston area and create organic social media content using a smartphone. Think funny skits with technicians, trending concepts, behind-the-scenes moments, employee personalities, shop content, quick educational videos, and spontaneous ideas that make a local business entertaining to follow.
You won’t be responsible for editing the content. Your job is to capture it. After each shoot, you’ll upload the raw footage to Home Service Studios, where our editing and social media teams will take it from there.
We’re looking for someone who is comfortable walking into a business, interacting with owners and technicians, directing people through simple concepts, and creating an environment where people loosen up and have fun on camera.
What we’re looking for:
* Strong understanding of Instagram Reels, TikTok, and short-form social content
* Naturally outgoing and comfortable approaching people
* Creative and able to execute funny skits, trends, and relatable concepts
* Comfortable directing people who aren’t professional actors
* Able to capture clean, well-composed smartphone video
* Understands basic framing, lighting, and audio
* Reliable, organized, and professional around clients
* Based in the Houston area with reliable transportation
* Comfortable traveling to client shops and job sites throughout greater Houston
* No professional camera equipment or editing experience required
This is a freelance/contract position with the potential for recurring work as Home Service Studios continues to grow throughout Houston.
