Job Title: Technical WriterJob Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Writer with a background in scientific protocols and laboratory testing procedures. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science degree in biology, toxicology, animal science, chemistry or a related field. Proficiency in MS Word and word processing is essential. The candidate must be adept at evaluating, organizing, and transposing raw data into comprehensive report formats, as well as writing report summaries.
Responsibilities
- Perform all functions necessary to complete final reports from raw data, ensuring compliance with EPA Guidelines, applicable PSL SOPs, and appropriate PSL report formats.
- Write technical summaries for reports based on provided raw data and complete all other aspects of the report writing process as required.
- Proofread reports to ensure that the data transferred from the raw data is technically and grammatically correct.
- Assist in the preparation of protocols, SOPs, and other technical documents.
- Periodically review PSL SOPs related to the job description and acute toxicology testing procedures, recommending changes as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Experience with standard scientific protocols and general laboratory testing procedures.
- Bachelor of Science degree in biology, toxicology, animal science, chemistry or equivalent.
- Proficiency with MS Word and word processing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to evaluate, organize, and transpose raw data into report formats.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 0-1 years of experience in Animal Science, specifically in report writing.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to review, revise, and manage databases.
- Previous work history in disciplines related to acute toxicology or chemistry studies.
Work Environment
The work environment is within a stable CMO that is experiencing departmental growth. The department offers a structured setting with opportunities for professional development. The role involves using Microsoft Word and Outlook for document management, and a strong emphasis is placed on delivering reports in a timely and flawless condition.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dayton, NJ.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
