Position Overview
The Social Media Account Manager serves as the primary point of contact for assigned social media clients and is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of each account's strategy, content, deliverables, and communication.
This role sits between strategy, execution, and client management. The Social Media Account Manager ensures that client goals are translated into clear social media plans, projects stay organized and on schedule, and internal team members have the direction and resources needed to execute effectively.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, client-focused, strategic, and comfortable managing multiple accounts in a fast-paced agency environment.
ResponsibilitiesClient & Account Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned social media clients
- Lead weekly and monthly client meetings
- Manage multiple client accounts simultaneously
- Maintain strong client relationships and ensure overall client satisfaction
- Understand each client's brand, audience, goals, priorities, and upcoming initiatives
- Communicate project updates, timelines, approvals, and deliverables
- Manage client feedback and ensure revisions are communicated clearly to the internal team
- Identify client needs, concerns, and opportunities proactively
- Maintain organized records of client requests, approvals, and account updates
Strategy & Planning
- Collaborate with the social media team to develop monthly content strategies
- Translate client business goals into actionable social media priorities
- Review and approve monthly content calendars before client presentation
- Identify relevant social trends, campaigns, and content opportunities
- Support campaign, product launch, and promotional planning
- Ensure content strategies align with each client's overall brand and marketing goals
- Monitor competitors and industry trends
- Identify opportunities to improve account performance and audience growth
Content & Project Management
- Oversee content calendars from planning through publication
- Ensure captions, graphics, videos, and other deliverables are completed on time
- Review content for brand consistency, accuracy, and quality
- Coordinate client approvals and internal revisions
- Manage content deadlines and publishing schedules
- Coordinate content shoots and production needs
- Review, organize shot lists, and be on site for shoots with the social media team
- Ensure content assets are properly organized and accessible
- Work closely with Social Media Coordinators, creators, designers, and other team members to keep projects moving
Community Management Oversight
- Ensure comments and DMs are monitored consistently
- Review community management needs with the social media team
- Escalate sensitive customer service issues to clients when necessary
- Identify engagement and community-building opportunities
- Ensure brand voice is maintained across community interactions
Analytics & Reporting
- Oversee monthly social media reporting for assigned accounts
- Track key account KPIs, including reach, engagement, audience growth, and content performance
- Present performance insights and recommendations to clients
- Identify top-performing and underperforming content
- Translate analytics into actionable recommendations for upcoming content
- Monitor account growth and progress toward client goals
Internal Team Coordination
- Work closely with Social Media Coordinators to execute account deliverables
- Delegate account-related tasks and provide clear deadlines
- Review deliverables before they are sent to clients
- Communicate client feedback and priorities to the internal team
- Ensure account information, deadlines, and approvals are properly documented
- Support and mentor junior social media team members
- Collaborate with PR, influencer, events, and creative teams on integrated campaigns
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field preferred
- 3–5+ years of social media, account management, or digital marketing experience
- Agency experience strongly preferred
- Experience managing multiple client accounts simultaneously
- Strong client-facing and presentation experience
- Experience managing social media content calendars and campaigns
- Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Facebook, and emerging platforms
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
