Overview
We are seeking seeking an exceptionally creative, polished, and visually sophisticated Personal Brand Content Producer & Creative Director to help develop and execute an elevated personal and professional lifestyle brand.
This is not a traditional social media manager position. The ideal candidate is a highly visual storyteller who can help conceptualize, stage, photograph, film, and produce compelling lifestyle content in real-world settings—from professional and philanthropic engagements to restaurants, cultural events, travel, real estate, and everyday moments.
The desired aesthetic is editorial, sophisticated, warm, authentic, and understated luxury—more Vogue, Ralph Lauren, Town & Country, and luxury editorial than traditional influencer content.
The position will primarily involve work throughout Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Paradise Valley, with occasional assignments in Prescott and other Northern Arizona locations.
What You'll Do
- Develop the visual identity and creative direction of an evolving personal brand
- Attend selected social, professional, philanthropic, cultural, and lifestyle events to capture high-quality photo and video content
- Photograph both candid moments and intentionally composed lifestyle imagery
- Capture sophisticated vertical video and B-roll for Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Reels, Stories, and other digital platforms
- Identify attractive locations, lighting, backgrounds, compositions, and storytelling opportunities in real time
- Provide confident but natural direction regarding posing, movement, camera presence, and staging
- Help plan periodic lifestyle and personal-brand photo/video shoots
- Assist with wardrobe and styling decisions as they relate to photography and overall brand presentation
- Coordinate with professional hair, makeup, wardrobe, or other creative professionals when appropriate
- Edit and curate photographs and video to maintain a consistent, recognizable visual aesthetic
- Develop Reels and other short-form video content from captured footage
- Maintain an organized library of photographs, video, B-roll, and other brand assets
- Collaborate on creative concepts and identify opportunities for compelling content around upcoming events, locations, travel, and professional activities
- Help make content creation feel natural and integrated into real life rather than overly staged or performative
Who We Are Looking For
The right person will have an exceptional visual eye and understand the difference between simply creating attractive content and building a sophisticated personal brand through visual storytelling.
You may currently work as a photographer, videographer, creative director, content creator, stylist, brand photographer, or social media producer—or combine several of these disciplines.
You should be comfortable working independently and taking creative initiative. We are looking for someone who can walk into a room or event and immediately recognize the best light, background, composition, moment, and story.
You should also be comfortable providing thoughtful direction. We want a creative collaborator who will say, when appropriate, "Let's shoot here," "This lighting is better," "Try this instead," or "This would make a great Reel."
Ideal Qualifications
- Strong portfolio of lifestyle, editorial, fashion, personal-brand, hospitality, luxury, or event content
- Excellent photography skills
- Strong short-form videography skills, particularly vertical/social-first video
- Experience editing photographs and video for social media
- Sophisticated understanding of composition, lighting, styling, color, and visual storytelling
- Strong sense of fashion, wardrobe, beauty, interiors, architecture, hospitality, and/or luxury lifestyle aesthetics
- Comfortable photographing people naturally in social environments
- Able to create content that feels polished without appearing overly posed or artificial
- Excellent interpersonal skills, discretion, professionalism, and situational awareness
- Comfortable attending upscale social and professional environments
- Reliable, organized, responsive, and able to work with a flexible schedule
- Ability to travel occasionally within Arizona
- Existing relationships with Phoenix-area hair, makeup, styling, photography, videography, or other creative professionals are a plus
Formal education is less important than taste, creativity, judgment, portfolio quality, professionalism, and demonstrated results.
This Role Is NOT Primarily About:
Community management, responding to comments, paid advertising, follower-growth hacks, Canva graphics, or spending the day scheduling posts.
Those skills can be helpful, but the primary responsibility is creating exceptional original visual content and helping shape the creative direction of the brand.
Schedule & Engagement
This is intended to begin as a part-time freelance/contract engagement, with the potential to develop into a long-term creative partnership.
Hours will vary depending upon events and content needs. Some assignments will occur during normal business hours, while others may involve evenings or weekends.
The ideal candidate is based in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area and has enough schedule flexibility to attend selected events with advance notice.
Compensation
Competitive and commensurate with experience, portfolio quality, and scope of work. Open to hourly, day-rate, per-event, or monthly-retainer structures depending upon the candidate.
