Company Description Innovations in Peacebuilding (IP) is a nonprofit organization that accompanies and invests in locally led peace efforts in war-affected countries through partnerships, education, networking, and research. Founded in 2009 by Dr. Charles Davidson, IP has grown from a one-person initiative with volunteer support into a global community that has helped drive change in five war-impacted countries. IP’s work centers on promoting nonviolent conflict resolution and building sustainable, safe communities in areas affected by war. Its vision is a world where child soldiery is eliminated and communities experience lasting, positive peace.
Role Description The Social Media and Marketing Volunteer role is a part-time, remote position focused on supporting IP’s digital presence and outreach efforts. The volunteer will help plan, create, and publish social media content across platforms to increase awareness of IP’s programs and impact. Day-to-day tasks may include drafting posts and captions, sourcing or creating visuals, scheduling content, and monitoring engagement. The role also involves assisting with digital marketing campaigns, coordinating basic online outreach, and supporting the refinement of messaging in line with IP’s mission and values. The volunteer will collaborate with team members to ensure consistent branding and effective communication with global audiences.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Social Media Marketing and Social Media Content Creation, with the ability to tailor messages for different platforms.
- Experience or interest in Digital Marketing and Marketing to support campaigns and online outreach.
- Clear and professional Communication skills, including writing, editing, and audience engagement.
- Interest in peacebuilding, international development, or humanitarian work; prior nonprofit experience is beneficial.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage time effectively, and meet agreed deadlines.
- Familiarity with social media management tools and basic analytics is an asset.
