About Mark & Graham
Established in 2012, Mark & Graham is a leading monogrammed lifestyle brand offering thoughtfully designed personalized products and custom gifts for every stage of life, across home, travel, pet, and baby & kids. The digitally native brand is known for its high-quality, in-house–designed collections, spanning decor, luggage, handbags, and everyday essentials, all customizable with hundreds of monogram options.
About The Creative Team
The Mark & Graham Creative team brings our brand story to life across every customer touchpoint, including site, catalog, email, social, digital marketing, and beyond. As part of the Copy team, you’ll help translate each season’s big ideas into compelling, on-brand language that inspires our customer, creates desire for our products, and reinforces Mark & Graham as a destination for thoughtful gifting and personalization.
We’re a collaborative, ideas-driven team that believes great creative work happens when people feel supported, inspired, and empowered to bring their point of view to the table. We value curiosity, craftsmanship, and a strong sense of partnership—both within the Creative team and across the broader brand. If you’re excited by storytelling, style, gifting, and the details that make language feel personal, we’d love to meet you.
Overview of the Role
The Mark & Graham Copywriter will develop compelling, on-brand copy across all channels, including seasonal campaigns, e-commerce, digital advertising, email, social media, catalog, and other customer-facing touchpoints.
In this role, you’ll create content that reflects our brand voice, upholds editorial standards, and ensures consistency and accuracy across every channel. You’ll partner closely with cross-functional teams to strategize, develop, and execute marketing copy that supports key business priorities and brings our products to life for the customer.
You’ll collaborate with merchandising and product development teams to understand what makes each product special, from materials and construction to personalization details and gifting relevance. This includes conducting research, reviewing product information, and meeting in person to see and feel samples, then translating those insights into compelling copy that clearly communicates product value and inspires purchase. You’ll also work closely with our site merchandising team to ensure those product insights are translated into clear, compelling on-site copy that supports product discovery, reinforces key selling points, and helps customers find the perfect gift.
Email will also be a key focus of this role. You’ll write subject lines, preheaders, and email copy that support our steady daily cadence, while using email performance data to inform stronger concepts, sharper messaging, and more engaging customer storytelling.
This is a full-time position reporting to the Content Manager, with a hybrid work schedule: Monday through Thursday in our San Francisco office, and Friday working from home.
About The Role
- Develop compelling, brand-aligned copy across digital channels, including e-commerce product pages, landing pages, email campaigns, digital advertising, and social media content.
- Write subject lines, preheaders, and email copy that support a steady daily email cadence, seasonal marketing priorities, and key business initiatives.
- Use email performance data, customer insights, and creative testing learnings to inform stronger concepts, sharper messaging, and more effective copy.
- Leverage AI-powered writing tools to support content development while ensuring accuracy, originality, and adherence to brand voice and editorial standards.
- Maintain consistent messaging across customer touchpoints by proofreading and editing copy for clarity, accuracy, quality, and brand consistency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to bring seasonal campaigns, product stories, and brand moments to life.
- Participate in seasonal planning meetings with Merchandising and Product Development teams to gain product knowledge, understand business strategy, and translate key selling features into customer-focused messaging.
- Partner with Site Merchandising to optimize on-site content, support product discovery, and ensure key product stories are communicated clearly throughout the customer journey.
- Manage product information workflows, ensuring milestones are met and product content is accurate, complete, and delivered on schedule.
- Audit, refresh, and optimize existing digital content across channels to maintain brand consistency and improve content performance.
- Manage product copy and content updates within our content management system, ensuring cross-functional requests and product information changes are completed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with brand standards.
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapting quickly to shifting business priorities, tight production timelines, and rapid-turnaround requests.
- Consistently deliver polished, high-quality work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
What You Bring
- 3–5 years of experience in copywriting, advertising, or editorial, preferably in a retail, lifestyle, or e-commerce environment.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to distill product information, campaign strategy, and brand storytelling into concise, compelling, and customer-focused copy.
- Experience writing across channels, including e-commerce, email, digital marketing, social media, and print, with an understanding of how voice and messaging shift by format.
- Highly detail-oriented, with strong proofreading skills and the ability to edit your own work with accuracy and objectivity.
- Organized and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple projects, shifting priorities, and tight deadlines without sacrificing quality.
- Collaborative and receptive to feedback, with experience partnering effectively with creative teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, plus solid organization and project management skills.
- Keeps a pulse on retail trends, with an interest in fashion, travel, gifting, and home decor a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Airtable, Figma, content management systems, and AI-powered writing tools a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field.
