Role Description: The Social Media Manager is a part time freelance position, based in New York City. This role is responsible for planning, creating, and publishing social content across Instagram and Facebook (potentially TikTok). Day-to-day tasks include developing content calendars, writing and editing posts, coordinating graphics and short-form video, and optimizing content for audience growth and engagement. The Social Media Manager will monitor social conversations, respond to community inquiries, and provide live event coverage, including on-site posting, stories, and real-time engagement during competitions. The role also involves analyzing performance metrics, reporting on campaign results, collaborating with internal teams and sponsors, and staying current on trends in sports, entertainment, and social media.

Qualifications
- Strong skills in Social Media Marketing and Social Media Optimization (SMO), with experience managing brand accounts and growing engaged communities.
- Content Strategy and Writing skills to plan campaigns, craft platform-appropriate copy, and maintain a consistent brand voice.
- Excellent Communication skills, including clear, concise written and verbal communication and the ability to collaborate with internal teams, talent, and partners.
- Experience using social media analytics tools (e.g., native platform insights, Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Later, or similar) and applying data to optimize content and posting strategies.
- Proficiency with basic content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express, or similar) and familiarity with short-form video workflows for Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
- Background in sports, entertainment, or live events marketing is highly beneficial; interest in pop culture and sports storytelling is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work on-site at events, manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
