We are seeking a Miami-based, detail-oriented, and highly organized Marketing & Publicity Assistant. Reporting to the Publishing Director, you will assist with pre- and post-publication campaigns for 4–6 books per season, support internal content creation and company-wide sales and marketing efforts, and provide administrative support.
Responsibilities
- Manage all trade review submissions (print and online), including drafting cover letters, preparing portal and email submissions, packaging, and mailing books to review outlets 4–5 months prior to publication.
- Identify, pitch, and contact content creators to coordinate book mailings for prepublication campaigns.
- Coordinate award submissions, including researching eligibility and deadlines, preparing submission materials, and managing delivery of books and supporting documents.
- Write compelling Amazon A+ content, social media copy, press releases, e-blasts, sell sheets, and other marketing material.
- Help coordinate author events and preorder campaigns by conducting outreach, coordinating communication, and ensuring timely delivery of all necessary materials.
- Assist with organization, booth setup, and on-site sales of books and merchandise at trade shows and book fairs.
- Schedule team meetings and ensure timely distribution of agendas, including for acquisitions meetings.
- Handle all direct-to-consumer customer service inquiries via email (Shopify, social media, etc.).
- Coordinate and track all shipment requests to distribution partners.
- Upload all book assets and ensure accuracy and consistency across all online platforms, submitting request forms as needed.
- Assist with in-office tasks, including book inventory checks and organization during scheduled visits.
Qualifications
- Must be based in Miami
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Prior experience writing press releases
- Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with efficiency and accuracy
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with social media platforms, trends, and digital best practices
- Excellent proofreading and copyediting skills
- Background in Journalism preferred
This is a part-time position with the opportunity to grow into a full-time role.
