This role is ideal for a creative and strategic social media professional passionate about supporting LGBTQ+ communities. You will take full ownership of Instagram management for a Seattle-based barber specializing in gender affirming haircuts for trans, nonbinary, and queer clients. The goal is to elevate the online presence, showcase transformative work, and build a welcoming digital brand that resonates with the community. You will collaborate closely with the barber to understand their vision and values, translating them into a compelling and authentic Instagram presence that attracts and engages new clients.
Deliverables
- Overhaul and manage the Instagram account, including content planning, posting, and engagement
- Develop and implement a cohesive branding strategy tailored to the queer and gender diverse community
- Curate and edit photo and video content that highlights haircuts, client stories, and the inclusive atmosphere of the barbershop
- Grow the follower base and increase engagement through targeted campaigns, hashtags, and collaborations
- Monitor analytics to assess performance and adjust strategies for optimal reach and impact
- Stay updated on social media trends and best practices relevant to the LGBTQ+ and beauty sectors
Requirements
- Proven experience managing Instagram accounts, preferably for beauty, wellness, or LGBTQ+ focused brands
- Strong understanding of branding, content creation, and digital marketing strategies
- Excellent visual storytelling skills with proficiency in photo and video editing tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut)
- Deep awareness of and sensitivity to LGBTQ+ issues, language, and representation
- Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and adapt to feedback
- Based in the US (Seattle preferred but remote considered); available for part-time contract work
