Aquent Studios is looking for a Social Media Strategic Planner with consumer product expertise for a well-known tech brand.
The Social Media Strategic Planner is responsible for translating social strategy into actionable plans that guide day-to-day execution and long term optimization. This role sits between strategy and execution, ensuring that social strategy is clearly expressed through channel plans, content frameworks, and learning agendas that teams can confidently operate against.
The Social Strategic Planner focuses on activation, planning rigor, and continuous improvement—making sure strategy actually shows up in the work and evolves based on performance and audience behavior.
Core Responsibilities
– Strategy Translation & Activation
Translate social strategy and business objectives into clear, actionable channel plans.
Define channel roles, content mix, format priorities, and cadence guidance that reflect how audiences behave on each platform.
Develop planning frameworks (e.g., content pillars, channel matrices, test-and-learn roadmaps) that remove ambiguity for execution teams.
Ensure campaign and always on plans align with overarching brand, product, and marketing priorities.
– Creator Planning & Briefing
Translate social and campaign strategy into clear creator planning frameworks, defining the role creators play across channels, moments, and audience segments.
Develop creator briefs and briefing inputs that articulate strategic intent, audience insight, platform considerations, success metrics, and guardrails.
Partner with Social Strategy, Creator Marketing, and Analytics teams to ensure creator plans are insight led, platform appropriate, and aligned to business objectives.
Define creator content roles and priorities (e.g., awareness, education, credibility, engagement) within broader social and campaign plans.
Ensure creator briefs reflect channel behavior, audience expectations, and performance learnings, and evolve based on results.
Pressure test creator concepts and proposals against strategic objectives prior to activation, providing planning level feedback and recommendations.
Support consistent briefing quality by contributing to standardized creator briefing frameworks and templates.
Collaborate with cross functional partners to align creator planning with brand, product, legal, and platform guidelines.
Participate in post campaign reviews to translate creator performance outcomes into planning insights and future recommendations.
– Insight Led Planning & Optimization
Partner closely with analytics and social intelligence teams to convert performance data, audience insights, and cultural signals into practical planning decisions.
Identify patterns across channels, formats, and themes to inform what to scale, refine, or deprioritize.
Define learning agendas and optimization recommendations so social performance improves over time.
Lead planning readouts that clearly articulate what’s happening, why it matters, and what should change next.
– Creative Strategy Guidance
Provide strategic creative direction that helps creative and creator teams understand how strategy should show up by channel.
Pressure test briefs and concepts against strategic intent before work is produced.
Ensure storytelling, hooks, and formats align to platform behavior and audience needs
– Cross Functional Partnership
Act as a strategic planning partner to Social Strategy, Creative, Creator Partnerships, Analytics, Production, and Marketing teams.
Bring clarity and structure to planning discussions, balancing rigor with momentum.
Support leadership with planning focused narratives and recommendations.
Qualifications & Experience
6+ years of experience in social planning, social media management, social campaign management, content strategy, editorial planning, or integrated marketing planning.
Proven ability to translate strategy and insight into practical, channel specific plans.
Strong understanding of platform differences, content formats, and audience behavior.
Comfortable influencing without direct authority.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to synthesize complexity into clarity.
Core Skills
Social Media and Content Marketing Expertise: Deep understanding of various social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X,) including their algorithms, best practices, and content formats.
Strategic Planning and Execution: Ability to develop and implement comprehensive social media and content strategies aligned with business goals, spanning global channel best practices and content/channel analysis.
Data Analysis and Performance Measurement: Strong analytical skills to track and interpret social media KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and benchmarks, including engagement rates, reach, conversions, and ROI. Experience with Sprinklr and YouTube Native tools is a huge plus.
Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for internal collaboration, and external communication with partners and audiences.
Adaptability and Continuous Learning: Given the fast-paced nature of social media, a willingness to stay updated on trends, platform changes, and emerging technologies is crucial.
Trend Awareness & Adaptability: Staying current with the latest social media trends, algorithm changes, and emerging platforms is vital for effective strategy development and execution.
Project Management Skills: Ability to organize and manage multiple projects, timelines, and stakeholders effectively
