Position Summary
We’re looking for a Videographer to join our content team on a part-time, as-needed basis in New York City. You’ll be the person behind the camera capturing content for our co-founders Jonathan Javier and Jerry Lee across both short-form and long-form formats. Think street-style shoots in Times Square, studio sit-downs for YouTube, and everything in between.
This is a pure shooting role. You won’t be editing. We have a dedicated post-production team that handles everything after the footage is captured. Your job is to show up, set up, and shoot high-quality content that our editors can turn into viral videos.
Hours are project-based, typically on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s. Some weeks may have multiple shoot days; others may have none. You’ll be booked in advance based on our content calendar (1 week in advance).
Compensation range: $20-$30 an hour (Depending on YOE)
Core Responsibilities
- Film short-form content (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts) for Jonathan and Jerry on location in NYC
- Shoot long-form content for YouTube, including sit-down interviews, vlog-style videos, and concept-driven pieces
- Set up and manage lighting, audio, and camera equipment for each shoot
- Capture high-quality B-roll, reactions, and candid footage that gives our editors strong material to work with
- Collaborate with our Content Strategist and Post-Production Producer on shot lists, angles, and creative direction before each shoot
- Adapt quickly to run-and-gun, on-the-street shooting scenarios as well as controlled studio environments
- Organize and transfer raw footage to our team’s shared drive after each session
Qualifications
Required
- Experience shooting video content (professional, freelance, or personal projects all count)
- Strong eye for composition, framing, and lighting in both indoor and outdoor settings
- Familiarity with shooting for social media platforms, especially vertical short-form video
- Comfortable operating DSLR/mirrorless cameras, gimbals, and external audio equipment
- Reliable, punctual, and easy to work with on set
- Based in or able to commute to New York City for in-person shoots
Preferred
- A portfolio or reel showcasing your videography work
- Knowledge of the career / job search space
- Experience recording for social media content creator of similar size to Jonathan & Jerry
