Come join the City of Redondo Beach Community Services Department as a part-time Program Coordinator!
Under the supervision of a Recreation Coordinator, the Program Coordinator assigned to Graphic Design and Social Media will produce content for the Recreation Department's social media accounts, produce a quarterly recreation brochure, take pictures of events and programs, and assist with other marketing tasks as assigned.
This is a part-time, at-will position that is not eligible for City benefits.
Sample Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To
Proposes, recommends, implements programs and activities, including but not limited to arts, exercise programs, and special events; participates in and coordinates fundraising activities; promotes community awareness of programs; selects, schedules, and directs part-time staff and volunteers; recommends and coordinates the purchase of program supplies and equipment; monitors and supervises program participants; makes behavioral referrals when necessary; confers and collaborates with other social services providers as appropriate; collects and analyzes data and prepares reports for management staff; operates a motor vehicle in the performance of job duties; and performs related duties as required.
Knowledge of: Materials, equipment, regulations, principles, procedures and practices related to youth and senior activities, recreational programs, group activities, games and sports; applicable health and safety regulations; first aid; record keeping practices and procedures; modern office practices, procedures and equipment; report writing; basic mathematical computations; applicable sections of the California Vehicle Code.
Ability to: Meet medical and physical employment standards for the classification; read, write, speak and understand English; understand and follow oral and written directions; compose correspondence, brochures, flyers and other informational documents; provide information to the public in person, by telephone, or through written correspondence where judgment, knowledge and interpretive skills may be required; communicate effectively orally and in writing; work overtime as necessary; establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and members of the public; legally operate a motor vehicle in the State of California.
Education and Experience: Effective leadership skills, creativity, good decision making and exercising appropriate judgment, the ability to teach, and the ability to lead by example are preferred qualities. Must be at least 18 years of age to apply. Must possess a valid California Driver's License. Completion of high school is required, and some college course work a related field is highly desired.SELECTION PROCESS:
