This is your chance to play a pivotal role in shaping the narrative, engaging a global audience, and amplifying the energy of a major industry event. You will be instrumental in capturing key moments, showcasing thought leadership, and fostering community engagement, directly contributing to the event’s success and the company’s brand presence.
About The Project
This temporary, project-based contractor role focuses on dynamic social media planning, content creation, and live event coverage for an annual user conference. You will be at the heart of the action, capturing the energy and key moments through engaging, brand-aligned social media content. While LinkedIn will be the primary channel, you’ll also adapt content for Instagram, X, and Facebook as appropriate, ensuring a broad and impactful reach. Working closely with the Communications team, you will help develop a social media plan, prepare content in advance, capture photos and short-form video onsite, and publish timely updates through the company’s social media accounts. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with a dedicated team and report directly to the Senior Corporate Communications Manager, who will provide guidance and oversight throughout the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Communications team in advance of the conference to develop a comprehensive content plan, establish priorities, and align on messaging and the event schedule.
- Provide live event coverage, capturing key moments, speakers, attendee interactions, sessions, and behind-the-scenes activity throughout the conference.
- Create compelling social media posts, high-quality photos, and approximately 1–2 short-form videos featuring attendees, company leadership, speakers, and other event highlights.
- Draft and publish timely content through the company’s social media accounts, prioritizing LinkedIn while strategically adapting content for other relevant platforms.
- Ensure all content consistently reflects the company’s corporate voice, brand standards, and communications priorities.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with the Communications team, company staff, and the event photographer to identify opportunities and optimize content capture.
- Organize, finalize, and deliver any remaining content following the event to ensure a comprehensive post-event archive.

- Demonstrated experience capturing high-quality photos and short-form video using a smartphone or similar equipment.
- Strong familiarity with LinkedIn and other major social media platforms (Instagram, X, Facebook).
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced, live-event environment.
- Superior judgment and a keen understanding of what makes content timely, relevant, and shareable.
- A collaborative, proactive mindset, comfortable adapting plans as event priorities evolve.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience covering conferences, corporate events, or executive communications.
Project Details
- This is a temporary project, requiring approximately 32 hours total, including pre-event planning, onsite coverage, and post-event deliverables.
- Onsite availability is required for the duration of the event, which spans three days in late October 2026.
- Some evening coverage may be required, including potential coverage of event afterparties.
- The contractor must provide their own smartphone and any additional equipment needed to capture and create content.
- Reasonable transportation expenses to and from the event will be reimbursed, along with select onsite meals.
- There is potential for additional social media projects based on business needs and performance following this engagement.
