Volunteer Board Leadership Position

Position Overview
Help turn meaningful content into greater community connection and support.
The Chief Marketing Officer will lead the foundation’s social media publishing and
marketing strategy, helping expand awareness of our mission, programs, and
resources. Volunteers will create social media content, while the Chief Marketing Officer
will coordinate, review, schedule, and publish posts to maintain a consistent and
engaging presence.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys marketing, collaboration, and using digital
platforms to advance a meaningful cause.
Hours 8 hours per month
Key Responsibilities
Manage social media publishing: Review, schedule, and publish volunteer-created
posts, ensuring accurate information, consistent branding, accessible presentation, and
alignment with the foundation’s mission.
Create a marketing plan: Develop a practical strategy to increase visibility, community
reach, engagement, and support.
Improve content performance: Use platform analytics and current practices to guide
posting times, frequency, formats, hashtags, and audience engagement.
Coordinate with volunteers: Maintain a content calendar, communicate priorities and
deadlines, and provide constructive feedback to content creators.
Promote foundation initiatives: Coordinate campaigns highlighting educational
resources, events, fundraising opportunities, volunteer openings, and community
programs.
Build community connections: Encourage interaction with followers and identify
opportunities for partnerships, shared content, and outreach.
Track results: Monitor reach, engagement, audience growth, website visits, and
inquiries to understand what is working and adjust the plan.
Board Participation and Accountability
The Chief Marketing Officer is required to attend monthly board meetings and present:
Completed work and campaign results.
Progress toward marketing goals.
Upcoming priorities and planned activities.
Challenges and requests for assistance.
The foundation’s leadership and board will work collaboratively with the Chief Marketing
Officer to address challenges and identify the people, resources, or support needed to
achieve agreed-upon goals.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with social media management, digital marketing, communications, or
community outreach.
Familiarity with scheduling tools and social media analytics.
Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
Ability to translate performance data into practical improvements.
Commitment to respectful, inclusive communication and the foundation’s mission.
Nonprofit marketing experience is welcome but not required.
