ABOUT SHAKESPEARE IN DETROIT
Shakespeare in Detroit creates rigorous, inclusive theatre experiences that honor the classical canon while amplifying underrepresented voices. We transform public spaces into stages that reflect the power, beauty, and resilience of Detroit.

THE ROLE
We're looking for an experienced, Detroit-area Creative Director to lead a single campaign in 2027. This is a project-based engagement and a first collaboration, with the potential for future work.

No theater experience necessary. We prefer a background in marketing and campaigns. As we expand our mission and brand in 2027, we're building an interdisciplinary team, and we're looking for a professional who brings creativity, rigor, and professional decorum, and who has a great eye.

TIMELINE
Work begins January 2027. The campaign launches publicly in April 2027.

SCOPE
Coordinate with campaign participants, with support from our team
Produce and direct a photo shoot, likely over two days. A photographer will be contracted and paid separately.
Select final images
Develop copy for social media posts
Adapt campaign assets for a print ad
Compensation
$7,500–$10,000 project fee, based on experience.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING
At least 10 years of creative leadership experience
A track record leading campaigns and brand work
Strong storytelling instincts and an eye for choosing images that carry an organization's mission
