Reporting to the Head of Content, this individual is a key member of the team responsible for helping to develop and execute Carlyle's content and digital marketing strategy worldwide. This person will also partner closely with business subject matter experts across investment teams to ensure that our content reflects timely, accurate, and compelling market perspectives that enable investment decision-making.
Leveraging expertise in copywriting, editing, and storytelling, the role will work closely with media peers, event marketing, internal and executive communications, and colleagues across Marketing, including social media, multimedia, digital experience and the creative studio.
In-Office Requirement: 4 days per week
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop, write, and edit high-quality marketing content across formats, including long-form articles and research, video and podcast scripts, email, social media, and in-person events, translating Carlyle's investment perspectives and business priorities into compelling narratives for institutional investors and wealth audiences (advisors, UHNW/HNW).
- Help shape and execute Carlyle's editorial point of view and content strategy, including ownership of the editorial calendar, ensuring individual initiatives ladder up to consistent themes, audience priorities, and business objectives across segments and channels.
- Develop deep fluency in Carlyle's investment strategies and market positioning across Global Private Equity, Global Credit, and Carlyle AlpInvest, using that knowledge to create content that informs, engages, and builds relevance with target audiences.
- Stay current on social and digital platform norms, emerging formats, audience behaviors, and evolving content discovery, adapting Carlyle's voice and storytelling so content feels native to each channel while meeting brand and compliance standards.
- Direct and develop freelance and contract writers who extend the in-house content team, including assigning work, providing developmental editing and brand voice direction, and ensuring consistently high editorial quality.
- Lead the editorial strategy for complex and high-profile campaigns, defining the core narrative and ensuring it translates cohesively across content, creative, multimedia, social, and other audience touchpoints in support of clear business objectives.
- Serve as an editorial lead across Content, Creative Studio, Multimedia, and Social Media, connecting disciplines and ensuring narratives, priorities, and execution remain aligned across channels.
- Use audience insights and content performance data to identify opportunities, optimize content, and inform future editorial priorities and formats.
- Partner closely with Legal and Compliance to navigate review requirements and ensure content meets applicable standards prior to publication.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to partners and stakeholders across the firm on storytelling, messaging, structure, and brand voice, constructively challenging and improving content where appropriate.
Support the Head of Content in advancing broader editorial priorities, team processes, and ways of working as Carlyle's content function continues to evolve and grow.
