Technical Writer Freelance
Location: Remote (Preference for candidates in the Greater Philadelphia area)
Hours: Part-time, 10-15 hours per week. Flexible scheduling (nights and weekends) to accommodate a full-time Monday to Friday job.

Job Overview: We are looking for a talented and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our Documentation team. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in technical writing and a strong understanding of industrial equipment. You will be tasked with creating and maintaining clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation for our clients’ products and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Documentation Creation: Develop, write, and edit user manuals, technical guides,
- and other documents related to industrial equipment. Ensure that content is accurate, user-friendly, and aligns with company standards.
- Technical Expertise: Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to gather technical information and comprehend complex systems and processes.
- Content Management: Organize and maintain documentation libraries, ensuring materials are current and easily accessible.
- Review and Revision: Regularly update existing documentation to enhance clarity, usability, and accuracy. Incorporate feedback from users and make necessary revisions.
- Compliance: Ensure all documentation meets relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Training and Support: Assist internal teams with documentation practices and tools. Help create training materials and resources as needed.
- Project Management: Handle multiple documentation projects concurrently, ensuring deadlines are met and high quality is maintained.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 3+ years of experience as a Technical Writer, ideally within the manufacturing or industrial equipment sector.
- Skills:
- Strong grasp of industrial equipment and technical concepts.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading abilities.
- Proficiency with documentation tools like Microsoft Word, Adobe FrameMaker, or similar software.
- Familiarity with content management and version control systems.
- Ability to convert complex technical information into clear, concise documentation.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Capacity to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environments
