Associate Designer
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Senior Designer to develop and execute junior apparel collections aligned with seasonal concepts and creative direction.
- Create detailed tech packs, specifications, and supporting design documentation.
- Assist with garment fittings and prepare clear, accurate fit comments.
- Produce detailed CAD flats, original hand sketches, and presentation-ready design materials.
- Support sample development, tracking, and calendar management throughout the product lifecycle.
- Research trends, color, fabric, and competitive product to inform design concepts.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to help ensure milestones and deliverables are met on schedule.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Fashion Design or a related discipline.
Preferred Skills
- 2–3 years of apparel design experience, preferably within the juniors market.
- Strong understanding of apparel construction, fit, fabrics, color, and silhouette.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Ability to create accurate flat sketches by hand and digitally.
- Strong design aesthetic, color sense, conceptual thinking, and attention to detail.
- Collaborative, organized team player with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Pay range and compensation package
- Target salary range: $60,000–$75,000, depending on experience.
