Job Details:
Title: Senior Piping Designer (AutoCAD Plant 3D)
Location: Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid: 1-2 days onsite a week)
Duration: Open Contract
Pay Range: $55-75/hr
Role Overview
This position contributes to the full design lifecycle by preparing high‑quality technical drawings and schematics that meet engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and project expectations. The role requires strong technical drafting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret engineering concepts into clear, precise documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- 3D model development – Lead the creation and review of 3D piping models, layouts, and orthographic drawings.
- Standards compliance – Ensure all deliverables align with company standards and industry codes.
- Documentation – Prepare engineering design deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaboration – Work closely with engineers and project stakeholders to translate concepts into field‑ready drawings.
- Database management – Maintain project databases in alignment with industry standards.
Requirements
- Experience: 10+ years of technical drafting/design experience.
- Education: High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD Plant 3D.
- Ability to develop/manage 3D piping models, generate intelligent P&IDs, and produce orthographic/isometric drawings.
- Strong technical drafting and documentation skills.
- Equipment: Supplier provides laptop and monitor for both onsite and remote work.
