Role Description The Social Media Coordinator is a part-time, on-site role based in Washington, D.C., responsible for supporting WISH’s online presence and engagement with current and prospective interns, partners, and alumni. This role involves creating and scheduling social media content across platforms, including posts, stories, and short-form video, aligned with WISH’s brand voice and messaging. The coordinator will monitor channels for comments and messages, respond or route inquiries appropriately, and help foster a welcoming and informative online community. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with staff to promote events and programs, gathering content from activities and resident experiences, and assisting with basic digital marketing campaigns and analytics reporting. The role may also support website updates, email campaigns, and other communication initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
- Ability to create engaging Social Media Content Creation and Writing tailored to student and academic audiences.
- Skills in Social Media Marketing and Digital Marketing to support brand awareness and program promotion.
- Strong Communication skills for clear, inclusive, and professional interaction across online channels.
- Familiarity with major social platforms (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, LinkedIn) and basic analytics tools.
- Attention to detail, time management, and ability to prioritize multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
- Comfort working on-site in Washington, D.C., including capturing photos/videos at events and student activities.
- Relevant coursework or experience in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field is preferred.
- Interest in higher education, internships, student life, or residential programs is a plus.
