Job Title: Social Media Manager
Location: Playa Vista, CA
Duration: 7+ Months
About the Role
We're looking for a strategic and highly organized Social Media Manager to support our always-on and campaign social presence across major platforms (TikTok, Instagram, X, and more). This role sits at the intersection of strategy, creative, and agency leadership — owning the day-to-day execution of our social presence while managing key external partners who help bring that vision to life.
This is a high-visibility position supporting a fast-moving consumer brand with significant reach and cultural relevance. You'll play a key role in shaping how the brand shows up in real-time conversations and major product moments alike.
What You'll Do
- Serve as the primary point of contact for two external social agencies, developing and delivering creative briefs and overseeing execution against brand strategy
- Support and help execute always-on social strategy — identifying and acting on relevant cultural and social moments in real time
- Lead campaign support across major initiatives (product launches, software updates, and other key brand moments)
- Manage multiple concurrent projects and channels, including oversight of junior team members' day-to-day work
- Partner closely with internal cross-functional teams — including Product Marketing, PR, Legal, and Brand — to ensure social work is strategically aligned and appropriately vetted
- Understand and interpret performance reporting (impressions, engagement, etc.) in partnership with internal data teams to inform ongoing strategy
- Bring a point of view and strategic direction to collaborative planning conversations, rather than solely executing pre-defined plans
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years of experience in social media management, ideally with direct agency management experience
- Proven ability to lead and manage external agency relationships and deliverables
- Strong understanding of always-on social strategy and how brands engage in real-time cultural conversations
- Experience supporting large-scale campaigns (product launches, major brand moments, etc.)
- Comfort working within a large, matrixed organization with multiple cross-functional stakeholders
- Familiarity with paid social concepts (not required to execute paid campaigns directly)
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and channels simultaneously
- Strong communication and leadership skills; able to operate with a high degree of independence and sound judgment
- Experience with social listening/management tools (e.g., Sprinklr) and project tracking tools (e.g., Airtable) is a plus
Nice to Have
- Background at a well-known consumer brand or tech company with high public visibility
- Experience specifically supporting hardware/software product launches
- Familiarity with digital/social research or creative strategy, in addition to core social execution
