Content & Social Media Coordinator
Company: The Pavement Directory
Website: ThePavementDirectory.com
Position Type: Part-Time, Contract or Freelance

About The Pavement Directory
The Pavement Directory is a growing national online directory and resource platform for the pavement and property maintenance industry.
The website helps property owners, property managers, HOA boards, facility managers, and other decision-makers learn about pavement services and find contractors specializing in asphalt paving, asphalt repair, sealcoating, concrete, parking lot striping, ADA and accessibility work, drainage, pavement maintenance, and related services.
We are building The Pavement Directory into a leading national resource for pavement information and contractor discovery.
Position Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Content & Social Media Coordinator to help grow The Pavement Directory's online presence.
This is primarily a content-production role, not a high-level marketing strategy position.
The right person will take existing website articles, contractor information, industry topics, project photos, statistics, questions, and ideas and turn them into useful, professional content for social media and the website.
You do not need to be an asphalt or pavement expert when you start. However, you should be willing to learn the industry and become comfortable explaining construction and pavement topics accurately.
A major part of the position will involve using AI tools to assist with research, writing, editing, image concepts, and content repurposing. The final content still needs to be reviewed, improved, and made useful rather than simply copying AI-generated material.
Primary ResponsibilitiesSocial Media Content
Create and publish content for platforms such as:
- LinkedIn
- Facebook
- Instagram
- YouTube Shorts
- TikTok, when appropriate
Content may include:
- Pavement maintenance tips
- Asphalt and concrete educational posts
- Before-and-after project examples
- Contractor spotlights
- New contractor listings
- Pavement failure explanations
- Parking lot maintenance advice
- ADA and accessibility information
- Cost and budgeting information
- Property manager tips
- Industry statistics
- Website tools and calculators
- New articles and guides
- Seasonal pavement maintenance reminders
Repurpose Website Content
Turn existing Pavement Directory resources into multiple pieces of content.
For example, one website article might become:
- A LinkedIn post
- An Instagram carousel
- A short educational video
- Several individual graphics
- A Facebook post
- A short-form video script
- A contractor-focused post
The objective is to get substantially more value from every article and resource we publish.
Short-Form Video Content
Help develop simple educational videos for social media.
Responsibilities may include:
- Creating video concepts
- Writing short scripts
- Recording or assembling simple videos
- Adding captions
- Creating voiceovers using approved tools
- Editing short-form videos
- Turning long articles into 30 to 90 second educational videos
Professional video production experience is not required, but basic editing ability is valuable.
Graphic and Visual Content
Create simple, professional visuals such as:
- Educational graphics
- Checklists
- Infographics
- Contractor spotlight graphics
- Article promotion graphics
- Before-and-after layouts
- Pavement diagrams
- Social media carousels
Experience with Canva or similar design software is preferred.
Website Content Support
Assist with website content as needed, including:
- Formatting articles
- Adding images
- Writing image captions and alt text
- Updating contractor profiles
- Writing or improving company descriptions
- Creating FAQs
- Researching pavement topics
- Updating older articles
- Finding relevant internal links between website pages
You do not need advanced SEO knowledge. Basic training and specific instructions will be provided.
Contractor Features
Help make The Pavement Directory more useful and interesting by highlighting contractors listed on the platform.
This may include:
- Contractor spotlights
- Company history
- Interesting projects
- Equipment or capabilities
- Service specialties
- Geographic service areas
- Company milestones
- Photos and videos
- Interviews or contractor Q&As
The goal is to create useful contractor content without turning the platform into advertising for individual companies.
Content Research
Research pavement-related topics and common questions asked by:
- Property managers
- Commercial property owners
- HOA boards
- Facility managers
- Homeowners
- Asphalt contractors
- Concrete contractors
- Striping contractors
Look for opportunities to create useful content around questions people are actively asking online.
Example Weekly Work
A typical week might include:
- Create 5 to 10 LinkedIn posts
- Create 5 Instagram or Facebook posts
- Produce 2 to 4 short-form videos
- Create 1 to 3 educational carousels or infographics
- Promote newly published Pavement Directory articles
- Create several contractor spotlights
- Update or enhance existing website content
- Maintain a content calendar
- Research upcoming topics and content ideas
Exact production expectations will depend on available hours.
Qualifications
We are more interested in someone who can consistently produce good work than someone with a long list of marketing credentials.
Strong candidates should have:
- Good written English
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to research unfamiliar subjects
- Comfortable using AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude
- Basic graphic design ability
- Experience with Canva or similar tools
- Understanding of major social media platforms
- Ability to work independently from detailed instructions
- Good judgment about what looks professional online
- Ability to organize and manage a content calendar
- Willingness to learn about asphalt, concrete, pavement maintenance, and construction
Preferred, But Not Required
Experience with any of the following is helpful:
- Construction
- Home improvement
- Commercial real estate
- Property management
- Contractor marketing
- SEO
- WordPress or website CMS platforms
- Canva
- CapCut
- Adobe Creative Suite
- Short-form video editing
- YouTube
- LinkedIn content
- AI-assisted content creation
Previous pavement-industry experience is not required.
What We Do Not Want
We are not looking for someone who simply posts generic motivational graphics or copies AI-generated articles directly onto social media.
The content needs to be:
- Useful
- Specific
- Original
- Professional
- Visually clean
- Accurate
- Relevant to pavement, construction, contractors, or property ownership
The goal is to build industry authority and a useful national resource, not simply increase the number of posts published.
Success in This Role
Success will be measured over time by improvements in:
- Website traffic from social media
- Social media followers
- Engagement
- Website article visibility
- Contractor profile visibility
- Newsletter subscribers
- Contractor signups and listing claims
- Brand recognition
- Content production consistency
The role may grow substantially as The Pavement Directory expands.
To Apply
Please provide:
- A short introduction about yourself.
- Examples of social media content you have created.
- Examples of graphics or videos you have created, if available.
- The social platforms you are most comfortable managing.
- The AI, design, and editing tools you currently use.
- Your hourly rate or preferred compensation structure.
- Your weekly availability.
- As part of the selection process, applicants may be asked to create a short sample piece of content from an existing article on The Pavement Directory.
Pay: $22.00–$28.00 per hour, depending on experience and demonstrated ability.
Approximately 10–15 hours per week initially, with the opportunity for increased hours and responsibility as The Pavement Directory grows.
