Role Description
CARVINGBLOCK is seeking an experienced, independent contractor for a 3-month engagement in support of a Los Angeles–based client across culinary, CPG/beverage, luxury, and hospitality.
This role requires a sharp understanding of current social behavior, trends, and meme culture, paired with a strong grasp of luxury, art, and cultural positioning. You will lead day-to-day social media strategy, content planning, and community management - shaping a digital presence that feels both immediate and considered.
This role focuses on social media strategy and account management, with selective iPhone-first capture to support real-time content execution.
You will work closely with the Vice President.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day social media and content strategy in collaboration with the Vice President, ensuring a clear and cohesive brand narrative across platforms
- Manage brand-owned channels (Instagram and TikTok), maintaining a consistent and elevated presence
- Develop and maintain monthly content calendars tied to programming, campaigns, and real-time cultural moments
- Translate trends, memes, and platform behavior into brand-right executions without diluting tone or positioning
- Lead client communication across social updates, approvals, and ongoing needs
- Collaborate across CARVINGBLOCK’s Digital Media and Studios teams to guide direction, organize assets, and support content execution
- Oversee daily community management across comments, DMs, and mentions in a thoughtful, brand-aligned voice
- Track performance and platform metrics, delivering clear insights and recommendations through monthly reporting
- Stay attuned to shifts in culture, platform behavior, and emerging formats
- Support selective iPhone-first content capture on-site as needed
Qualifications
- 3- 5 year of experience in social media management, digital strategy, and content creation
- Strong writing, copyediting, and editorial judgment
- Familiarity with performance analysis and social media analytics tools
- Working knowledge of design principles and social-first creative platforms
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively
- Strong communication skills with the ability to manage client relationships directly
- Experience with hospitality, food & beverage, or lifestyle brands is a plus
