Position Overview
The Marketing Coordinator is an entry-level, highly organized project manager responsible for supporting the day-to-day execution of marketing initiatives.
This role is the operational backbone of the marketing team, ensuring projects move efficiently from request to completion. The coordinator will manage workflows in Asana, communicate with internal teams and external contractors, and support campaign execution across digital and fundraising efforts.
This is an ideal role for someone early in their career who is eager to grow in marketing, project management, and nonprofit communications. This position reports to the Director of Marketing & Communications and plays a key role in shaping Muslim Aid USA’s digital growth strategy, especially across major campaigns such as Ramadan, emergency appeals, and year-end giving.

Manage all incoming marketing requests and tasks through Asana
Build and maintain project timelines, assign tasks, and track progress
Ensure deadlines are met and projects move efficiently across teams
Follow up with team members and stakeholders to keep work on track
Support weekly team check-ins and status updates
Serve as a point of contact between the marketing team, internal departments, and external contractors
Coordinate deliverables with designers, videographers, and freelance support
Ensure all stakeholders have clear direction, timelines, and expectations
Help onboard and manage contractor workflows
Assist in the execution of digital campaigns including email, social media, and fundraising initiatives
Support event marketing efforts including Ramadan campaigns, peer-to-peer fundraising, and special events
Coordinate assets, links, and deliverables for campaign launches
Submit and track invoices for vendors and contractors
Generate QR codes and trackable links for campaigns and events
Maintain organized records of marketing activities and expenses
Support data entry and basic reporting needs
Help maintain and organize the marketing content library including photos, videos, and design files
Ensure assets are properly labeled, stored, and accessible to the team
Support the implementation of brand guidelines across materials
Highly organized and dependable with strong follow-through

Someone who takes initiative and helps solve problems before they escalate
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred
1 to 3 years of experience in marketing, project coordination, or administrative support (internships included)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Experience with Asana or similar project management tools preferred
Basic understanding of digital marketing platforms such as email and social media
Comfortable working with spreadsheets, documents, and shared systems
Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills
Preference is given to Fairfax, VA (and surrounding areas) applicants as to conform to our hybrid model which requires a minimum of 3 days per week in office. During busy seasons, employees may be asked to perform overtime work and work during weekends, i.e. Ramadan, Qurbani, Winter campaigns.
