Rocky Mountain Veterans Advocacy Project (RMVAP) is dedicated to providing comprehensive pro bono and low bono legal support to veterans. Our services include representation for appeals before the VA, support for initial benefits claims in specific cases, and advocacy before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims and the Federal Circuit. We assist veterans with discharge upgrades for general, other-than-honorable, or bad conduct discharges and provide referrals for legal matters outside VA benefits. Our mission is to advocate for those who have served, ensuring they receive the support they deserve.
Role Description
This is a part time, on-site role based in Denver, CO, combining responsibilities as a Receptionist and Social Media Manager. In this dual role, you will greet and assist visitors, manage incoming calls, and oversee general clerical duties. Additionally, you will create and schedule engaging social media content, monitor platforms for interaction, and coordinate updates to enhance RMVAP's online presence. Your day-to-day activities will support both administrative office functions, perform intakes for potential clients and strategic communication efforts to further the organization's mission.
Duties
- Greet visitors, clients, and vendors with professionalism and warmth at the front desk, managing multi-line phone systems and providing excellent customer support.
- Handle all incoming calls with proper phone etiquette, directing inquiries efficiently across departments.
- Manage office operations including data entry, filing, calendar management, and maintaining office supplies to ensure a seamless workflow.
- Create, schedule, and publish engaging content across various social media platforms to enhance brand visibility and community engagement.
- Monitor social media channels for comments, messages, and reviews; respond promptly to foster positive relationships with followers.
- Assist with clerical tasks such as proofreading documents, managing email correspondence, and supporting administrative projects as needed.
- Utilize software tools like Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, QuickBooks, and basic bookkeeping applications to support daily functions.
- Support special projects including event planning or marketing campaigns that promote organizational initiatives or services.
- Maintain a professional appearance and uphold excellent organizational skills to balance front desk responsibilities with social media duties effectively.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in office management or administrative roles with strong clerical skills.
- Previous experience as a receptionist or in a medical/dental office setting is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with multi-line phone systems, calendar management, data entry, filing systems, and office software such as Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Strong computer literacy including proficiency in social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) and basic content creation tools.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Veteran status is encouraged, but not necessary.
- Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and personal presentation.
- Experience with bookkeeping or QuickBooks is advantageous for handling financial tasks related to the role.
- Personal assistant experience or legal receptionist background will be considered a strong asset.
