Founder Marketing Associate (Thought Leadership & Brand)

About the Role
We are looking for a Founder Marketing Associate to work closely with the CEO of a growing accounting firm to help develop thought leadership, build our brand presence, and expand our professional network.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys ideas, writing, storytelling, and relationship building. You will help translate the founder’s expertise into content, events, and connections that strengthen the firm’s reputation and influence in the industry.
Rather than running traditional marketing campaigns, you will focus on amplifying expertise, building relationships, and organizing strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities
Thought Leadership & Content
- Turn founder ideas into LinkedIn posts, articles, and newsletters
- Assist with drafting talks, presentations, and thought leadership pieces
- Help develop a content calendar and publishing schedule
- Capture insights from meetings and conversations and convert them into content
- Support podcast, media, and speaking opportunities
Personal Brand & Messaging
- Help refine the founder’s public voice and positioning
- Maintain brand consistency across content and communications
- Assist with website and brand messaging updates
- Identify topics and trends relevant to the firm’s expertise
Networking & Partnerships
- Research events, conferences, and speaking opportunities
- Coordinate introductions and relationship outreach
- Manage follow-ups with key contacts
- Track relationships and partnerships in a simple CRM
Events & Community Building
- Help plan and organize small events, dinners, or roundtables
- Coordinate logistics for speaking engagements or industry appearances
- Assist with partnerships and collaborations with other firms or creators
Marketing Operations
- Maintain a marketing calendar
- Track engagement and results from content and initiatives
- Conduct light research on competitors and industry trends
Qualifications
Ideal candidates may come from backgrounds such as:
- Journalism
- Communications
- Content marketing
- Podcast/media production
- Personal brand marketing
- Community or partnership roles
Requirements
- 1–4 years experience in marketing, communications, journalism, or content
- Excellent writing and storytelling ability
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Comfortable working directly with founders or executives
- Interest in professional services, finance, or business
Bonus skills
- LinkedIn content experience
- Event planning

- Podcast or media outreach
Role Structure
- Part-time: 10–15 hours per week
- Location: Hybrid, with regular in-person collaboration in San Francisco
- Contract: 3-month initial term with option to extend or convert to full-time
Compensation
- $40–$60/hour depending on experience
- Opportunity to grow into a full-time Head of Brand / Marketing role
