We are seeking a high-energy, project-based
Content Art Director to join a dynamic in-house creative team for our CPG client. This hybrid role is based in the San Francisco Bay Area and requires a hands-on visionary who can balance high-level conceptual thinking with technical execution at a dedicated production studio in Oakland. As a key creative lead, you will partner with copywriters and creative directors to develop compelling 360° campaigns and digital-first content, specifically focusing on Online Video (OLV) across various platforms. If you are a seasoned storyteller with a "can-do" mindset and a proven track record of directing professional photo and video shoots, we want to see your portfolio.
- On-site as needed for shoots.
Responsibilities:
- Conceptual Development: Partner closely with copywriters and ACDs to generate clear compelling content designed for modern content ecosystems. From 360° campaigns to functional online videos and everything in between.
- Visual Strategy: Translate ideas into storyboards, mood boards and layouts that sell the vision, guide execution and maintain narrative consistency.
- Production Leadership: Set the creative vision for video and photo shoots, including the development of detailed shot lists, visual references, and mood boards.
- On-Set Direction: Lead and oversee shoots in our in-house studio, ensuring all work aligns with the creative intent and brand standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Bring a strong creative point of view while collaborating seamlessly with creative, strategy, brand, and production partners.
Qualifications:
- Education: BA/BFA in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or equivalent.
- Experience: 4-6 years of experience creating digital-first content, with a heavy emphasis on Online video (OLV) across owned and operated channels.
- Industry Knowledge: CPG experience, in-house and/or agency are highly preferred.
- Technical Mastery: Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite and experience integrating AI tools into the creative workflow.
- Conceptual Craft: Strong conceptual thinking paired with excellent executional craft. A sharp eye for design, composition, and brand consistency.
- Shoot Experience: Proven experience defining and overseeing the vision for professional photo and video shoot.
- Portfolio: A portfolio that demonstrates original ideas, storytelling, and content craft.
- Soft Skills: A positive, "can-do" mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Creative Problem Solver: Able to pivot and adapt quickly to meet the demands of a fast-paced and always changing creative workflow.
