The Social Media & Marketing Coordinator will support the communications, outreach, and digital storytelling efforts of both the Wisconsin Muslim Civic Alliance (WMCA) and the Wisconsin Muslim Civic Foundation (WMCF). This role will help elevate community engagement, promote educational programming, and
support advocacy and civic participation efforts across Wisconsin, while maintaining clear
compliance between WMCF’s educational work and WMCA’s advocacy activities.
The Coordinator will work closely with the Executive Director to ensure accurate, timely, and mission-aligned messaging across platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media Management
Manage and maintain social media platforms for WMCA and WMCF (Instagram,
Facebook, LinkedIn, WhatsApp)
Create and schedule posts, stories, reels, and graphics using Canva
Draft captions aligned with each organization’s tone and purpose
Maintain consistent branding while clearly distinguishing C3 and C4 content
Content Creation & Storytelling
Capture and edit short-form video and photo content from events
Develop post-event recaps and impact storytelling
Highlight community voices, leaders, volunteers, and program milestones
Support campaigns such as town halls, educational workshops, Advocacy Day, and
community forums
Marketing & Outreach
Support promotion of events, webinars, trainings, and statewide tours
Assist with digital flyers, email graphics, and Linktree updates
Help maintain a shared monthly content calendar
Strategy, Tracking & Growth
Track basic analytics including reach, engagement, and follower growth
Support audience and supporter growth strategies
Recommend improvements based on performance insights
Compliance & Coordination
Ensure clear separation between:
WMCF (501(c)(3)) educational, research, and public awareness content
WMCA (501(c)(4)) advocacy, policy, and mobilization content
Follow internal approval and messaging guidelines
Coordinate with staff, volunteers, and partners to collect content
Time Allocation (Approximate)
WMCF (C3): 12–15 hours/week
WMCA (C4): 15–18 hours/week
(Not to exceed 30 hours total per week)
Qualifications
Experience managing social media for nonprofits, advocacy groups, or community
organizations
Strong writing and storytelling skills
Proficiency with Canva and major social media platforms
Basic video editing skills (Reels, short clips
