We are seeking a highly experienced freelance writer who specializes in enterprise-level customer evidence and case studies for Fortune 500 technology companies.
The role requires a writer with a demonstrable track record of successfully turning complex, technical, business-critical information into credible, polished customer stories that can withstand scrutiny from legal, PR, and executive stakeholders. This writer will move between multiple and varied style guides depending on the project at hand, so the ability to adapt quickly and retain detailed information is key.
Customer evidence case study writing requires a separate skill set from content marketing, social media, SEO writing, or conversion copywriting. As a result, we are not able to consider writers whose experience comprises mainly blogs, thought leadership pieces, or social content for this role.
The work:
You will write customer evidence case studies for household-name technology companies and their customers, involving:
- Complex technical products or platforms
- Regulated or high-risk industries
- Senior customer stakeholders (C-suite, VP, Director level)
Our interviewers capture detailed customer conversations. Your role is to analyze that material, identify the narrative spine, and produce a publication-ready case study that aligns with strict brand, messaging, and style requirements.
What you’ll do:
- Review interviewer notes, transcripts, and recorded materials to fully understand each customer story.
- Quickly develop a story strategy that aligns customer outcomes with client messaging and positioning.
- Write clear, authoritative, on-brand case studies using client-specific style guides.
- Accurately incorporate metrics, technical details, and quotable executive statements.
- Collaborate with editors and internal teams to ensure quality and consistency.
This role is a strong fit if you:
- Have 5+ years of professional experience writing enterprise B2B or technical content (agency, in-house, or journalism).
- Have written customer case studies or customer evidence for large or recognizable companies.
- Are comfortable interviewing or writing for technical and executive-level audiences.
- Can move confidently between multiple brand voices and style guides without confusion.
- Understand agency workflows, client approvals, and the realities of enterprise review cycles.
- Work efficiently because you’ve done this many times before—not because you take shortcuts.
Time commitment:
- Minimum availability of 15 hours per week.
- Ability to respond to assignment requests within one business day.
- Occasional availability for expedited assignments with 1–2 business day turnaround (higher rates apply).
Compensation:
Our competitive freelance rates are aligned with experience, demonstrated skill, and the scope of each assignment.
- Paid training
- Tiered rate increases based on demonstrated skill, consistency, and reliability
- Premium rates for expedited work
