About Civic Roundtable
We’re Civic Roundtable – a mission-driven, venture-backed startup (supported by General Catalyst) that makes government more integrated and effective through technology. We build tools for government workers on the frontlines of public problems that matter to all of us, from preventing homelessness in our communities to administering our elections.
Civic Roundtable is a government operations platform purpose-built for local, state, and federal government agencies and their partner organizations. Founded by a team with extensive government experience and the belief that the public sector is a force for good, Civic Roundtable is the foundational technology for a more integrated and effective government.
With Roundtable, wide networks of government agencies and partner organizations can consolidate existing data repositories and disseminate mission-critical information in real time. This facilitates government collaboration by empowering public servants with the information, answers, and peer expertise they need, when and how they need it, to serve their communities.
Trusted by public servants at over 1,500 agencies in all 50 states, the company emerged from the Harvard Innovation Labs to modernize how millions of government workers across 90,000 agencies achieve their mission. Roundtable is built on AWS GovCloud.
About the Role
We are looking for a Growth Marketer to drive awareness, mindshare, and build pipeline — someone who can connect the right message to the right channel at the right stage, experiment aggressively, and turn early signals into repeatable growth systems.
As the second member of the Marketing team, you'll help bring our initial growth strategy to life through campaigns, events, web experimentation, and targeted growth tactics. This role will have a budget for freelance and agency support, and will partner closely with Marketing, Sales, and external collaborators to test, learn, and scale what works.
What You’ll Do
This role owns both strategy and execution for growth programs — setting direction, running experiments, and iterating based on results — in close partnership with Product Marketing and Sales. We expect this role to operate with a crawl walk run mindset — starting scrappy, learning quickly, and scaling what works over time.
Message, Channel & Funnel Optimization (Primary Focus)
Develop and test hypotheses around message x channel x funnel stage (e.g., what resonates with CIO vs. program leaders, early vs. late stage)
Experiment with lower-touch motions (email, social, content, communities) to improve conversion and velocity before scaling paid or high-touch programs
Partner with Product Marketing to inform positioning and messaging based on learnings from growth campaigns
Demand, Lead Generation (Primary Focus)
Design and manage demand and lead generation activities from start to finish, including budgeting, forecasting, setup, and reporting to ensure cost-effective growth and maximizing return on investment
Support account-based and priority-account marketing efforts aligned to sales goals and regional focus
Design and manage nurture programs that move accounts from awareness consideration active pipeline
Analytics & Growth Infrastructure (Primary Focus)
Own and measure performance marketing efforts and build the infrastructure for reporting, scoring, and analyzing our data
Partner with Sales and Marketing leadership to deliver clear funnel, pipeline, and campaign reporting that informs real decisions
Help build and optimize CRM and marketing automation workflows (nurture tracking, sequences, data hygiene, reporting)
Use data to prioritize crawl walk run improvements across data processes
Events Marketing (Supporting Focus)
Build and run field marketing and regional strategies in partnership with Sales and Marketing (events, dinners, webinars, follow-ups)
Manage promotion, execution, and follow-up to optimize pipeline impact
Research and support conference and on-site event strategy, including collateral and logistics
Content, Distribution, and Mindshare (Supporting Focus)
Collaborate to develop and execute Roundtable’s content calendar and distribution strategy across the blog, social media, email, media, and beyond
Support content development by writing blog posts and social media posts, as well as creating content as needed (blogs, social posts, campaign copy, light visuals)
What We’re Looking For
Demand & lead gen experience — You have experience developing and executing growth programs that drive measurable pipeline growth
Strong message-to-channel instincts – You know how to match messaging to audience, channel, and funnel stage, and you’re comfortable testing and refining along the way.
Experimental mindset — You’re excited to try something, experiment, measure and iterate, approaching new motions with an eye for improvement
Organized & detail-oriented – You can lead and manage multiple projects, prioritize what moves the needle, and work cross-functionally to keep things moving
Collaborative and communicative — You value learning from others and building trust across teams in support of better outcomes
Startup-ready & scrappy — You thrive in fast-moving environments and can execute independently
Who You Are:
3-6 years of experience in growth, demand generation, or marketing, ideally in B2B SaaS, govtech, or another complex sales environment
Experience partnering closely with Sales on multi-touch motions that support longer, multi-month sales cycles
Hands-on experience with marketing, CRM, and analytics tools (e.g., LinkedIn Campaign Manager, HubSpot, Marketo, Salesforce, Attio, or similar)
Comfortable working with funnel metrics, attribution, and performance reporting
Proven project management skills, including clear planning, timelines, and cross-functional coordination
Excited to work in a startup environment that values adaptability and a bias toward action
