Heavy Sports is looking for a passionate, entrepreneurial, freelance breaking news writer to expand its coverage of the NFL, NBA and MLB.
The breaking news writer will collaborate with editors in crafting timely, distinctive, engaging content that serves fans' needs.
Qualified candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Deep sports knowledge and versatility with the ability to expertly cover multiple teams and sports
- Experience covering sports in a fast-paced, digital-first environment
- Exceptional writing, self-editing, and content marketing skills
- Ability to write quickly while producing clean and polished copy
- Ability and desire to react rapidly to on- and off-field breaking news
- Strong multi-taking and communication skills
