Architectural Digest (AD) is looking for a creative and analytical Commerce Market Editor to write, edit and optimize affiliate editorial content for its digital business. Core to the role is a commitment to excellence in design and storytelling as well as a strong sense of style and point of view on home industry trends. The Market editor will pitch, commission, write, and edit stories on a daily basis for AD’s digital verticals. This role will cover the home category, specifically furniture, decor, sleep and travel, maintaining an accessible yet aspirational merchant mix across all content. The ideal candidate has a proven ability to work independently, quickly, and remain organized and efficient. This role requires an in-depth understanding of the e-commerce landscape, an interest in creating engaging-service driven content that drives Commerce KPIs, and a passion for shopping and home decor. The market editor will also be responsible for finding new ways to engage our audience around commerce-driven stories on all our digital platforms.

Primary Responsibilities
Write and edit 6-10 pieces of shopping content each week, ensuring copy is clean, brand and curatorial standards are met, and SEO and affiliate best practices are implemented
Analyze traffic and conversion results from past content to make recommendations in key categories
Work with a consistent pool of freelance writers, photographers and videographers to create timely and relevant service-driven stories
Coordinate with SEO managers and commerce resources to make sure all content is optimized
Assist in managing a long-term commerce editorial calendar to feature ongoing, SEO, and seasonal shopping content
Manage product call-ins and reviews for editorial consideration
Identify and plan around AD-aligned categories that present an opportunity to expand coverage, researching trends, with regular competitive analysis
Partner with brands and retailers to identify potential content opportunities
Support AD’s sales and tentpole coverage, especially timed to annual shopping moments
Work across other AD stakeholders to achieve editorial excellence throughout all platforms, including social, newsletter, and video
Pitch content and franchise ideas to editorial leads
Additional duties as required, or as assigned by manager
Skills and Qualifications
3-5 years of relevant experience with a related brand(s) or media publisher
Impeccable editorial judgment, writing, and ability to capture AD’s voice to reach new and established audiences
Proven ability to work independently, quickly, and remain organized and efficient
A passion for design and home decor
Demonstrated mastery of SEO optimization and digital publishing best practices
Strong comprehension and utilization of purchasing data, consumer trends, and competitive analysis
Familiarity with affiliate link programs such as Skimlinks and Amazon
Ability to analyze performance across different verticals, product categories, retailers, and content types to optimize for revenue generation
The expected base salary range for this position is from $80,000-$93,000.
In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates may also be eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation.
