Job Description
Beauty Social Media Manager (Freelance)
We’re seeking a hands-on Freelance Social Media Manager to bring beauty stories to life across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Pinterest. In this role, you’ll guide content from the first idea through production, publishing, and performance review—creating platform-native work that connects with audiences and supports brand goals.
Working closely with marketing and creative partners, you’ll balance planned campaigns with timely cultural moments. You’ll use community feedback, social listening, and performance insights to keep content relevant, engaging, and consistent with the brand’s voice.
What You’ll Do
Content Strategy and Creation
- Build and manage the social content calendar with marketing and creative stakeholders.
- Turn brand priorities, audience insights, and beauty trends into platform-specific content concepts.
- Create evergreen content, product and launch stories, campaign assets, and timely trend-led posts.
- Write engaging captions and social copy tailored to each platform and audience.
- Produce and edit social-first assets, including short-form videos, carousels, and static posts, using light design and video-editing tools.
- Prepare creative briefs for creators, user-generated content partners, and production vendors.
- Support content planning and capture for shoots, talent, events, and special initiatives.
- Test new formats and platform tools, and maintain an organized library of social assets.
Community and Channel Management
- Schedule and publish content while maintaining a consistent, brand-safe voice across channels.
- Respond to audience questions and feedback, moderate conversations, and escalate issues in line with brand guidelines.
- Monitor creator content, community sentiment, and category conversations for insights and timely opportunities.
- Provide community management coverage as needed, including occasional weekends or holidays.
Collaboration and Optimization
- Partner with marketing, creative, e-commerce, PR, and regional teams on campaign plans, messaging, and content rollouts.
- Share calendars, upcoming priorities, and performance updates with cross-functional partners.
- Prepare regular reports on social performance and use learnings to refine content, copy, formats, and posting strategies.
- Track competitors, platform updates, and emerging trends to identify opportunities for testing.
- Optimize content for discoverability using keywords, hashtags, and platform-specific SEO practices.
- Support paid social creative, creator partnerships, and influencer or community-led initiatives as needed.
- Manage competing deadlines and contribute to evolving social guidelines and best practices.
What You Bring
- At least four years of experience creating social-first content, with a portfolio of short-form, platform-native, and trend-responsive work.
- Strong knowledge of Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Pinterest, including their formats and best practices.

- Hands-on experience with tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut, or similar platforms.
- Experience managing content calendars, supporting content shoots, and delivering work against fast-moving deadlines.
- Familiarity with social publishing, analytics, and community management tools.
- Ability to turn campaign objectives and performance insights into compelling creative.
- Clear communication and collaboration skills, including confidence presenting ideas and results.
- An organized, adaptable, and solutions-focused approach, with attention to quality and brand safety.
- Willingness to provide occasional weekend or holiday coverage.
- Experience managing social budgets, creator fees, or production costs is a plus.
